NWR: Seriously a fb invite?

So, FI doesn't use his fb. I log on and play games and if family messages I tell him so he can respond.

Well I logged in just now and found a message invite from a "friend" to him and 12 others, from the momma to be saying she is having a baby shower and these 12 people are invited. Proceeds more into how she is eco-friendly and prefers gifts of that nature. I ignored the first message and now there is a follow up "I need to know if you are coming or not to tell my BSplanner."  (At 6am, I read that as Bull poop and gave myself a giggle)

So tacky. I know FI wouldn't go even if he had the day off.

Re: NWR: Seriously a fb invite?

  • Wow that's sad.  I read that as "I need to know if you're bringing me a gift, if not - I'm not wasting my time on you!"   Hope its not a GOOD friend??  Some people have no tact..
  • FI and I have been together for 4 years and I never met this person. Some of these friends are old school chums around jr and highschool. We are both 31 now. Lol.
  • We got a FB wedding invitation a few months ago. They set their RSVP date for a full two months before the wedding date, even though the only method to RSVP was through FB, and they STILL started sending request through FB to send RSVPs before the deadline. This is the same couple that requested only cash as gifts and put on their wedding web site that they would only have an open bar at the wedding if ppl donate enough money to their wedding fund. I feel bad bashing them on here, b/c I really like this couple... but I just don't get what they're thinking.

  • Wow just tacky is all I can say! It also sounds like she sent the two messages within the weekend, that's ridiculous!

  • Some people cant afford the whole shabang. I dont find this tacky at all. Look outside the box. At least you got an invite.

  • I recieved an invite to a wedding reception, not the wedding, at a bar, ON THE DAY OF MY WEDDING that they *were* invited to....they are getting married on the 4th of July and included the registry information....and I'm on the 14th....I mentioned that I couldn't make it because my wedding was that day and I wish them both all the luck in the world...she responded back with, "well you shouldn't have planned your wedding so close to mine!" excuse the **** outta me, my date has been set for 9 months...hers...3 months....then to give me a laugh, the person officiating their ceremony is doing ours as well and is a very close friend of mine...told me they are not legally getting married,  just a hand fasting and she is paying 200+ dollars to change her last name, but said ":they don't need a piece of paper"
