A lil help? FI's wedding gift...

Hey ladies! So, I just got my FI his wedding gift; Cufflinks of his favorite football team (The Raiders. Yes, I know ladies. Don't make fun ;) )

Anyway, I feel like I should be getting him something else? What did you all do, if anything, for a wedding gift the day of?

    I got H a nice bracelet, because that's what he wanted.  He also had mentioned a men's jewelery box, so I found one for him at Fossil and he loves it.

    H wanted a GPS thing.  Yeah plain Jane haaa!!!! That is what he wanted and that is what he got! HAA!!!! He does not wear cuff links, doen't like jewerly and got a really nice watch when he graduated from college so that was that.  I am no help I guess.

    H got a watch he wanted. Have you set a limit? I think the cufflinks and a thoughtful note are lovely! But I've also heard of nips of Johnnie Walker Blue so he gets a little "something blue" too....I like beach's idea of a man's jewelry box too.

    Ha ha Crown, that's how it is usually with my FI and I. We don't usually get special stuff for eachother... It's always like "what do you want for your birthday?" "a bass/compound bow..." DONE. (Those are real examples, btw! LOL I got the bass, he got the bow.)

    Beach, I like the idea of a box, I will look into doing that. Then maybe I can add a couple of little things in there that he likes... hmm.

    CAB that is how we do everything too.  I only surprised him once and that was this past birthday.  It was something that he was not expecting and didn't even know it was out there.

    Sami-That's cute!

    FI is an impossible person to shop for; I don't buy electronics as gifts (it's weird, I know), so we joke that most of my gifts are just me trying to turn him into Don Draper.

    We didn't really exchange gifts because we spent so much money on the wedding.

    BUT we put the direct TV in the basement when we moved (the second box. the first box is in the living room) and I regreted not putting it in the bedroom. I went to Pittsburgh a week earlier than H and the wedding. He fixed it so the TV is now in the bedroom. He also put pictures of us on a media video to music.

    I bought him a real pair of ray bans and then had byers remorse because they are SO expensive! I ended up buying him a bottle of Gentleman's Jack and 6 Steeler shot glasses. He had a shot with his groomsmen before the wedding.

    I haven't even thought about this yet. I know there will be some sort of nice bourbon involved since that's FI's favorite. But outside of that I'm at a loss as what to do.

    We talked about it and H wanted a suit, since all he has is his Mess Dress and Blues.
    However, he has yet to go shopping with me so I can buy it for him LoL.

    FI is getting a video game because thats what he wants... He is also getting a grooms cake. 

    When we do a VR I'll have thought of something by that point.

    Our gift to each other was each other.
    We paid for the wedding ourselves and had a LOT of financial bumps along the way. Nothing that we couldn't handle and weren't prepared for financially, but we still didn't have the extra money to play with like that. We totally forgot to even write each other a love note! fail. oh well :P

    This is a good thread because I have NO IDEA what to get FI.  He is terrible to buy for.  He always ends up buying what I bought him before I have a chance to give it to him.

    He keeps mentioning wheels for his motorcycle (3,000 dollars...umm NO) and 150,000 dollar guns.  Just to annoy me (which it totally does).

    I plan on printing out the emails of when we first started talking and the month he was gone ater we were dating.  They are really sweet and I think he would appreciate reading them again.  I'll present them in a really cute way.  It won't be the only thing I give him though.

    I'm getting FI a pair of really nice sunglasses that he really wants. It's perfect for him since we're going to Mexico for the HM and he doesn't really have any shades except for what he wears out in the field :-P

    I know this thread is just about gone, but if anyone reads this: We can go to Mexico? FI and I were talking the other night just about random travel stuff (my cousin that just got married is going on a Carribean cruise for his HM) and he told me that he can't go on a cruise outside of U.S. waters in the Carribean and that right now there's a travel warning about Mexico. Has anyone else heard this? I mean, I get it, there's some really f-ed up things going on in parts of Mexico with the cartels and all right now, but I wanted to know if you guys knew any other places that member of the military aren't supposed to travel, or does it vary by service branch?

    Our anniversary, wedding day, and his B-day are in the same month.

    His B-day gift is a really nice display case for his sabre he received at commissioning.

    His wedding gift/ anniversary gift I have something extra special. I'm making him a boudoir photo book. I got a 6x6 scrapbook/refillable pgs putting some tasteful pics and the refillable pgs are for him to add future pics. I'm giving him that along with a honeymoon kit I made.
