Low-cal alcoholic bevvies?

Hey ladies,
What are your go-to low calorie alcholic drinks? I recently switched to Captain and diet coke, but it's getting old.  I'm not a big fan of soda water.  I loooooooove Skinnygirl Margaritas -- I'm not sure you're supposed to drink the whole bottle in one night though???

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Re: Low-cal alcoholic bevvies?

  • vodka is way "better" for you than rum/rye/beer/wine. So usually that with soda water and crystal light haha. Or soda water and limes/lemons or diet 7-up

  • Yeah, I would do vodka with soda water and squeeze lemon in it. If you go to the flavored vodkas, it just adds more sugar.
  • I haven't drank for a couple years but when I did I would drink Crystal Light Lemonade with Vodka or any diet soda with vodka.  Or diet Rockstar/Sugar Free Redbull with vodka.

Basically any low cal mixer with vodka :)

  • I always, always order a skinnygirl margarita or vodka soda with a splash of cran. Either one is about 100 cals and I make sure to really enjoy it :)
  • Diet Coke and vanilla or cherry vodka is my new go to drink when I'm out, since most places don't have Diet Sprite. Also, most wine is between 60-90 calories a glass, so if you like wine, it's not a bad choice.

When I'm at home, I like Diet Sprite and raspberry vodka (any flavor really works for that), and recently, there's that new whipped cream vodka, that when mixed with Diet Cream Soda, or Diet Dr. Pepper, is absolutely *amazing*! I'm also a big fan of wine spritzers (half a glass of wine and half a glass of Diet Sprite). And if you like Diet V8 Splash, it goes really well with vodka as well.

Not that I like to drink or anything....Wink
  • I may not be the correct person to answer, because, well, I like to enjoy my alcoholic beverages.

Your lowest cal/lowest articficial sugar option is definitely vodka/soda.  As the others have mentioned above you can add a splash of lemon or lime juice, or some real cranberry or pommegranate juice.  With the real stuff a little goes a long way.

  • I'm wasn't a fan of soda water either as a mixer UNTIL I discovered how good it is with a flavored vodka.

I love me some Tangerine Vodka (or any citrus vodka really) and soda with a twist of lime. It's light, not too sweet and tastes sooooo good!

Before I discovered this, I always drank liquor with sprite or some kind of juice. This is so much better. :)

  • A lot of my thoughts were already mentioned but I used to work with a woman who drank malibu and diet all the time and it was really good, especially with a lime.  She didn't exercise much (which is not what I would recommend), but she still lost weight while watching what she ate and enjoying these beverages regularly.

  • Thank you for all your ideas.  I will definitely give soda water another chance! Thank goodness it's Thirsty Thursday so I can try out some new drinks!

  • a shot of tequila is only 60 calories and it'll give you the buzz you want! haha. What I like to do is take a shot and then sip on diet soda all night.

if I drink; vodka and H2O or makers and H2O
    :3
  •   I love vodka with soda water and TONS of lime. I also make a sort of mojito with berry vodka (instead of rum), lime, berries, mint, soda water. It's a bit of work, but worth it.
  • Shots are a little intense for me, so I like to make shooters. I take a half shot of alcohol and fill it the rest of the way with whatever mixer you would normally use. It still has quite a kick and it has all the fun of a shot with a lot fewer calories!

</div><div>So after a ladies night in this past Friday night, I have some more:</div><div>
</div><div>Whipped cream vodka and either diet cream soda, diet root beer, or diet orange soda. It is soooooooo yummy! And the whipped cream vodka only has 70 calories. </div>
  • Here's another vote for vodka (flavored vodka if you like it) and club soda with lemon, lime, or an orange slice.  I used to prefer vodka tonics, but switched to club soda and actually prefer it to the taste of tonic water now.  Otherwise I drink Coors Light!

  • Learn to take your drink neat or straight up, with a twist of lime;) Diet tonic and gin was always my favorite.
  • Low-calorie drinks? No thanks, beer please! I don't drink much so I guess I don't sweat the extra calories when I do.

Fact: Guinness is a "light" beer - 126 calories per 12 oz. That's less than MGD and Budweiser, and only slightly more than Bud Light.
  • Champagne!  90 calories in a glass and you don't need to mix it with anything.
