best of both worlds

I need some serious advise. My fiance and I are looking for a small wedding venue for 75-80 guests and have a limited budget. We were hoping to spend up to $10,000 or less but for our taste have been finding it super difficult. We want a venue that is size appropriate, offers a substantial amount of good amount food and is modern, simple and yet elegant so it still feels like a wedding. We go back and forth about a restaurant, hotel or banquet hall and are also open to non traditional spaces as well as long as we get the most for our money. The date is Sunday 5/26/13. Please help as I am driving my fiance and myself nuts and feel like there is no hope. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Try the Emerald Ballroom at the Radisson Hotel in Freehold
  • The Graycliff in Moonachie has a smaller room and I'm pretty sure they can accommodate that size. Our wedding is 120 ppl, and we're paying around $15,000, and that's on a Saturday, and including lots of Upgrades, so I think you can def be under $10,000 on a Sunday for 80 ppl.

The lowest they go is 100 people on a weekend.

  • If you're looking for a deal, I would change the date and not get married on Memorial Day weekend.

South Gate Manor in Freehold. We had a large wedding there and they are incredible! I can't say enough good things about the place. I have had many guests tell me that it was the best wedding they were ever at. You might have to share the hall with another couple, but if nobody else books that day, the place is all yours.
  • Thank you all, I will look into all of the above. Has anyone been to the WIshire Grand?

<div>Try the Inn at Lambertville Station in Lambertville. Their cheapest package for 2012 is $100/pp including tax & gratuity on Fridays and Sundays. The nice thing is they only require a minimum of 50 guests whereas Saturdays they require minimum 100 (I think their capacity is about 125). I'm not sure what their 2013 pricing is but you could definitely get everything for under $10k. We're inviting 83 and I'm estimating attendance of 70-80, and if we had 80 we'd come in at around $9300 for just the reception. Good luck!</div>
  • Thank you all for your suggestions, we looked into many of the above places, but ended up booking last night at the Wilshire Grand. We are so excited.
