Hey, I saw your post on CC about your friend/relative/someone who's church believes their first kiss should be a married kiss. I'm not asking to be snarky, genuinely curious, do they base this on anything specifically Biblical? What denomination are they? I have just never heard this before and I am intrigued. I could do a Google search but I thought I'd ask you. =D

     They call themselves post denominational and belong to a group called ChristChurch but they (my aunt/uncle and cousins) seem to have some pretty interesting interpretations within their particular church.  I'm not  close with them because my aunt and I do not get along, but I find their particular church to be cultish in some respects.  2/3 cousins are married, and the 2 that are had their spouse picked out for them from the church, and they have pretty strict rules to adhere to during courtship and engagement (no kissing, side hugs only).  My cousins are very innocent in nature and I do believe they fully followed these rules.  All I know is that for some reason they stress the importance of no physical/intimate connection between two people unless they are married, and they include kissing and hugging in that.  The weddings are also unusual to me, in that I've never seen so many people stand up and fist pump and chant for the 5 pastors as they enter the room (this is the cultish part for me.  It's awesome to love your pastors but the fist pumping and multiple officiants is really bizarre to me).

    It's pretty different.  To each his own I guess.  My cousins seem pretty happy, so I guess that's what matters in the end, but I can't imagine marrying someone that was chosen FOR me by my parents and not even kissing them before the wedding ceremony.  But, 3 kids in 3 years of marriage, I guess things can't be that bad, right? :)

    Yeah, that doesn't sound fun for me, but if they're happy, whatevs. And yeah, that does sound cult-ish about the fist pumping...

    So do they not full hug/kiss family either? Or is it just unrelated people?

    Just unrelated people.  Have you seen that reality show on TLC about the virgins getting married who have never kissed before?  It's kind of like that.  My aunt is just really judgemental and a drama llama so I avoid her when I can, but it's interesting to watch from a distance.  :)
