Heinz Memorial Chapel weddings

Hi all!  Does anyone happen to know whether Heinz Memorial Chapel, on the University of Pittsburgh campus, is air conditioned or not?

I would like to think that it is... but can't call to confirm because their offices are only open M-F.  If anyone has been to a wedding there recently, please let me know.  Also, if it isn't (gulp...), was it sweltering inside the church?

    No, it is not.

My daughter had her wedding there in Oct. '09 - heat was not a problem as the weather was real flukey and the high was only in the 30s!

I believe that they have fans in the back of the Church.
What  month are you wanting to book for?

Not air conditioned, but very breezy with the fans and plus there isn't a whole lot of light in the chapel. We were just at a wedding the at the end of June and we are having our ceremony there beginning of June next year.  HTH.

My wedding was there last August on a terribly hot and humid day. Obviously weather can be unpredictable here, one week  can see temps in low 80s with no humidity, next week can be drastically different. For the guests, Lindsayloo is right about there not being a lot of light, but bride, groom and wedding party, the lights are a killer especially when in tuxes, wedding gowns, veils, etc (i.e. you're right under them). I definitely did not feel a breeze...as a guest I'm sure it's different.

I wouldn't change a thing about our venue because it was probably one of the best parts of the whole wedding day, but just be prepared for hot weather and possibly sticky temperatures sans a/c.

I attended a wedding there last Saturday and it was exremely hot in the church.  It was a short ceremony but everyone was pouring sweat, especially the groomsmen.  Taking into consideration th weather in Pittsburgh lately, it may not be AS hot as it was last Saturday on a regular basis.

There is a fan in the front facing the groom's side of the church, but the brides side air was pretty stagnant.  They passed out handheld paper fans, so that helped to some degree.
