Wedding Venue on Cape Cod for 200+ - No Tent

Hi Everyone!!
I am new to the planning process and to the knot in general so hoping for some good advice/help. I am looking to get married sometime next Fall on Cape Cod and just started looking at wedding venues. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of venues that can accommodate 200 people that doesn't require an outside tent. I love the tent idea but my fiance is worried about the weather and would prefer an inside venue with a view!!

Does anyone have any good recommendations for places on the Cape with a view that can hold about 200 people comfortably? We have looked at Wychmere, Wequasset and Oceans Edge thus far. Room at Wequasset seemed a bit small for 200 people/would be crowded....Wychmere is big enough.

Just curious if there are any others you would recommend or have recently had a wedding at! Would love some input from fellow brides.

Thank you SO much. I really appreciate it!!

  • Check out the SeaCrest in Falmouth. I got married there last year. It is on Old Silver Beach and definitely fits over 200 people. It has a great view and was just completely renovated. Good luck with the planning and let me know if you have any other questions.
  • Another possibility is the Coonamessatt Inn in Falmouth. My daughter had the same concerns about the tent and wedding size.
  • How about Chatham Bars Inn? I went to a wedding there 2 years ago and it was gorgeous. (All the other venues are also gorgeous, just another idea!)
  • Ditto to CBI - the dining room is big enough and stunning.  We're getting married in on of their smaller locations in August and they've been great to work with.
    Anniversary
  • I was also wary of the tent option, but I ultimately had one for my wedding.  Any nice venue has tents to which both walls and heaters can be added if the weather is crappy.  So don't let the tent option completely turn you off from a venue you love.
  • The Flying Bridge in Falmouth, CBI, Crosby Mansion in Brewster is doing renovations this fall, and it is amazing there,  Seacrest in Falmouth, also check out Sie View in Dennis, not sure if they hold that many but keep in mind if you invite 200 you will probably have 160-180 attend.
  • I'm having 220 at the Wychmere on August 12. Karen Rood is a fantastic coordinator. I went to a wedding there last September and it was also great.

I got married at the Popponesset Inn in Mashpee. We invited 255 people (they had the room for them all), but only 120 actually made it. It is BEAUTIFUL. The ceiling is reminescent of a tent, but it's a wooden floor and there are clear things that they roll down on the sides to keep out rain. It actually rained during my reception, but I didn't even notice.  It's literally right on the beach - we walked 30 seconds away to get our photos done. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The people who own the Popponesset Inn also have a country club nearby that they use for weddings... I'm not sure what the view is like over there, but I know it's still fairly close to the beach, just not right on it.
