Bra

Hi, ladies,

I need a great bra for my one-shoulder gown. I don't need to be pushed up to my chin or squeezed together like a Victoria;s Secret model. I've got small Bs and I just need to be firmly in place and feeling comfortable for my day. Where in the city can I get a GREAT bra for under $75 for the day? THANK YOU for sharing your faves.

Points for making it a something blue.:):)

Thanks again and congrats to you all!!

Have you considered having cups sewn in?  I did this for my wedding and also for a lot of high school dances; you get the look/support you want but dont have to spend a ton (cups are like $10, plus costs to sew/alterationish)

Thanks!! It's a great idea. I guess my dress is kinda flowy, and it's in NJ right now, so for those two reasons and the fact that I can only fly in once more for a final fitting. I'm going to go the bra route. You're right thought -- that would be a fabulously easy way to go. Thank you anyway!:)

If you chose to go the bra route, check Nordstrom out. They will help fit you and show you the best options. but I agree with HZ...do the cups!

Yeah, definitely do the cups! It will look better, especially since your dress is "flowy" like you decribed. It doesn't take much for a seamstress to sew them in (pretty standard job), and all he/she would need to do is get the placement right, which can be done in one fitting.

Another option would be a NuBra, which are basically cups with adhesive in them so they stick right on your tatas haha. I like the UltraLite the best so far of the varieties I've tried. It seems to be the stickiest and most comfortable. The silicone ones tend to be heavier, and therefore don't stick quite as well because of the weight. This is the one I currently have: http://www.barenecessities.com/fashion-forms-nu-bra-ultralite-backless-bra-bq846021aos_product.htm?pf_id=FashionFormsBQ846021AOS

I will say though, if you sweat a lot, this may not be the best option, but even with sweating, this style seems to stick pretty well, especially if what I am wearing is more fitted at the bust, since there is a little more reinforcement, haha.

If you MUST do a regular bra, I am a big fan of Calvin Klein perfectly fit strapless bras, specifically the one WITHOUT the pushup. For whatever reason the one with pushup that I have is extremely uncomfortable, despite it being my size.

Go to Intimacy on Michigan Ave. - they will have or be able to get whatever you need.
