Military Uniform, or not? Opinions please!

Hey!
So my fiance is in the Army (75th Ranger) and the wedding is Sept 1st. I'm not personally very fond of the Army dress uniform so we planned to have him wear a tan tux instead, which matches our colors and is more summer/outdoor wedding appropriate, i think. However, his groomsman are mixed military and civilian (2 Army, 1 Marine, and 2 civilian). Do you think for the groomsman we should mix/match military uniform and tan tuxes? Or should they all wear tan tuxes?
Would it be weird for others to wear their uniform and not the groom?

I definitely would not have any of the GM wear the uniform if your FI is not wearing it. Eyes will automatically be drawn to them in pics and in person. They're going to stand out more than your FI/H on his wedding day. You know?

I agree with TeamBaby on this one. If your FI is not wearing his uniform, then none of the GM should be wearing them, IMO. I think that would look a little backwards. It would be different if your FI chose to wear his uniform and then have all the GM in tuxes. I say just have all of them wear the tan tuxes if your FI does not want to wear his uniform.

I agree as well. If your FI/H doesn't want to wear it, then they all wear the tan tuxes. Like TeamBaby said, it would draw all the attention away from him on your guys big day.

I'm gonna go opposite and say it doesn't matter. Personally I say give them the option of wearing their dress uniform or a tan suit. I don't think it will take attention away from your FI at all.

While I love uniformity in wedding parties, I would ask the guys what they think. Wearing their dress uniforms would save them money afterall! And yes, everyone will know who the groom is. Kinda like that old rule, don't wear white to a wedding, someone actually did to mine but I didn't realize or noticed til after when I saw pics, but it was NBD.

I think all the Groomsmen should be somewhat matching, but on the other hand. I wasn't thinking of having my FI wear his uniform but I am so proud of him and what he does why not? Marrying a man in uniform is kind of romantic in a way...in my opinion.

My fiance isn't wearing his uniform. His groomsmen are all civilian friends (his military friends aren't sure if they can make it) but even if they were, I personally would rather the guys all look the same. It really comes down to personal preference. What would YOU like to see in your pictures hung on the wall? I like things to look neat and organized, so my preference would be to have the guys matching.
