  So how is the wedding planning coming along? It's going well but way too fast. I pretty much have all the vendors booked, except limo, baker, and invitations.  We just have a lot of  DIY projects to do.
  Any one do their cake testing yet/Food testing? I did the cake testing already, well I'm in the process of doing it.  I have quite a few appointments lined up, though I don't mind because cakes are yummy!  I have not done a food testing.
   If so how did it go? I went to three bakers so far and the one I liked the most is Miel Patisserie because he makes very unique fillings and wants to know what kind of cake you like.  He had 4 different kinds of vanilla and chocolate that all varied in firmness, which is something I haven't seen from other bakers.
  What flavors of cake did you pick ? Haven't decided anything yet since I still have appointments lined up. But if we were to go with Miel Patisserie we would pick orange cake with peach and vanilla bavarian cream filling and the other flavor would be chocolate cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling.
   What was your overall food pick? Although we haven't done an official food tasting, we did a mini food tasting before we booked our venue to assure ourselves that they had good food.  During that tasting, I loved the brown sugar honey glazed salmon, so we are definitely going to have salmon as one of the dishes.
  If we did do a GTG would you be able to attend on a friday/ saturday night? Yup

  So how is the wedding planning coming along? I have dress paid and sitting in my parents' closet, all vendors booked, and invitations as well as a whole bunch of other WR stuff is sitting in two closets at my house!  Not sure if we will have a limo or just ask friends/family to help out with transportation.  Really trying to maintain a tight budget!  Also need to check in with bridesmaids to see which ones haven't ordered their dresses yet.
  
  Any one do their cake testing yet/Food testing? Not yet, hope to do that in the next couple of months.
  
  If so how did it go? I'll let you know when it happens.
  
  What flavors of cake did you pick? Knowing how much FI and I love chocolate, we will probably have that flavor as the dominant flavor.
  
  What was your overall food pick? It's a meat meal rather than a dairy one (cannot mix meat and milk when doing a Kosher Jewish wedding).
  
  If we did do a GTG would you be able to attend on a friday/ saturday night? Absolutely!
  
  Do you have a wedding planner? No, but strongly considering hiring a DOC.  My wedding is in six months, so I better decide soon, eek!

  So how is the wedding planning coming along? Its going well! We have all of our major vendors booked. We ordered are invitations 2 weeks ago and they should be in any day. We have so many smaller things left and time is flying!
  
  Any one do their cake testing yet/Food testing? No, our vendor said they don't do tastings but we pushed for it and they are making an exception. We wont be able to go until a few weeks before the wedding.
  
  If so how did it go?
  What flavors of cake did you pick ? We haven't picked them yet. The standard are vanilla, chocolate, or marble. We might do each tier something different. All of the rest with fillings and different flavors are more money so I think we are going to pass on any upgrades.
  
  What was your overall food pick? We did a duet plate to help cut down on the cost. Each guest will get petite filet mignon and tuscany stuffed chicken. I'm actually more excited about our amazing cocktail hour then the actual meal.
  
  If we did do a GTG would you be able to attend on a friday/ saturday night? Possibly, I am more north and with only 3 months left until the wedding I feel like I don't have a free weekend until after Easter.
  
  Do you have a wedding planner? My Aunt does wedding planning on the side so she has been unofficially helping me with a lot of vendor negotiations.

  So how is the wedding planning coming along? It's going.  It's sorta at a stand-still seeing as all the vendors are booked.  My bridesmaids are coming in for a weekend (in 1 week! so excited to see them!) so we'll be picking dresses then.  After that I guess its the moms to go next haha  Invitations will be next, as well as bunch of other diy things.
  Any one do their cake testing yet/Food testing? I just had my food tasting this past weekend, and it was amazing!  We chose some really great food!  Cake tasting I did during the months of November and December.
   If so how did it go? Both tastings went really well.  As I already said, the food at my venue was amazing.  Cake...oy that took 1 month to figure out.  We went to 1 baker suggested by our venue and the cake was horrible (but I tried it again at a bridal show and it was better, but not great).  Then we tried 2 other bakers, fantastic cake, expensive price.  Finally, my mom and I went on a cake crawl and visited every baker in the area, and ended up where I least expected to.  The cake is fantastic and we just finalized the design and flavorsthis past weekend after our tasting.
  What flavors of cake did you pick ? We chose chocolate chip cake with chocolate fudge filling and butter cream icing.
  What was your overall food pick? We picked chicken marsala, london broil, fresh salmon, and a wonderful pasta primavera (this is making me very hungry just writing about it).
  If we did do a GTG would you be able to attend on a friday/ saturday night? Saturday yes, Friday no cause I work Saturday mornings :-(
  Do you have a wedding planner? No...doing it all myself, and its not that bad.  I have the best catering manager in the world at my venue, so she is my psuedo wedding planner haha

  It's coming along well so far.  Have church, reception, DJ and photog booked.  My next big 3 are dress, florist and honeymoon planning (Hawaii!)

  Nah, too soon for that.  I am excited for it though!
  What flavors of cake did you pick? 
  Too soon for this also.  The Westin contracts with Classic Cake Co so if anyone has recs, send them my way.  I like vanilla/vanilla so we'll see!

  Our entree choices will be prime rib, chicken or veg...exact dishes TBD after tasting. 
  If we did do a GTG would you be able to attend on a friday/ saturday night?
  Sure!
  Do you have a wedding planner?
  No, but considering a day-of planner as some other girls have mentioned.  It would help me relax and enjoy the day, as I tend to worry about little things!

  Our entree is prime rib and chicken. We're still working on deciding everything else.

  Pretty good, I guess. I have the venue, DJ, and photographer booked. Most of the invites went out this week, and the rest will go out this weekend. I still need to look at flowers (this wkend); buy my shoes; decide on favors; & gifts for my girls

  OH Yea!! cake tasting. yum
  What flavors of cake did you pick? 
  We will finalize our flavors (and design of the cake) this weekend.  We are leaning towards 1 layer of chocolate hazelnut; 1 layer w/raspberry filling & fresh straberries (may sound odd, but oh soo delicious!!!); and we have no idea about our top layer..we have to see the options again.
  your overall food pick?
  Our entrees are filet mignon (my personal fav); ahi tuna (come on... we're down the shore. lol); and veal tenderloin.  We have an amazing cocktail hour w/appetizers (so many that I simply can't list).   I keep telling everyone to COME HUNGRY!! lol   Oh yea, since we are having an early ceremony, we will be serving mimosa's & bloody mary's to everyone.. yup... get an early buzzzzz. lol

  Absolutely - preferable friday.
  Do you have a wedding planner? 
  No, but I really wish I could have afforded one!  i DO NOT handle stress very well

  love the colors ladies lol..
  im glad to see everyones plans are going smoothly..
  im afraid of my cake tasting because when I went to visit my venue the main guy was telling me the flavors the baker had and he had me afraid because the flavors did not sound to great but we will see how it all goes....
  -- everyone else your cake flavors sound yummy!!!!
  
  ok now talking about the GTG.... where are you located at so whenever we plan a future gtg ....

  Our big Day is MAY 22!!!  Yup.....2 months away!! I can't wait!!

  cmaygrl- no problemo, i love seeing the various answers and getting the ladies chatting on the board..
  
  but yeah as soon as i get a couple more posts about where the ladies are hopefully i can figure out a place somewhere and i will let you know when i come up with it and you can give me you feedback on that and let me know what you think.
