  I would pick honeymoon if I had my way, but we are doing a "middle of the road" wedding...not over the top, but classy, and 9 days in Atlantis...(we probably wouldn't have been able to afford this, but we got a really good deal we couldn't pass up.)

  We're going mid way on wedding, and splurging on HM.  I've been a budget tightwad on things to pare down anything that isn't necessary (and that guests won't notice). I'll put anything that will enhance a guest's experience in (better cushioned chairs? sure. Ice sculpture? Not your girl).  It's worked out fine so far.

  I don't want a Grand Wedding - we are having an intimate wedding - @ 35 guests.
  
  We already had a vacation planned for this year so we picked our wedding date to coincide with the vacation.  For our 1 year we are thinking of a cruise - maybe Panama Canal.

  Eh, you only get married once, but you can have vacations anytime! I say have a grand wedding, do a mini honeymoon afterwards, save up for a year, and then do a BIG honeymoon! Do the best of both worlds!
