Hair & Make Up Vendors - Destination Planning & Need Recommendations

Aloha,

I will be coming to Oahu to get married at the end of May. Being that I am from Pennsylvania, I am looking for some recommendations on places to use for hair and make-up. Ideally, they would come to me.

Also, anyone who has had a destination wedding in Hawaii - how did you consult with the person doing your hair and make-up prior to the day? We are getting in to Oahu late on a Thursday and getting married Saturday. With so much to do on Friday, I don't know if I'll have time for a face-to-face consult.

Any advice would help!

Hi!

I got married on Oahu in June 2011, & went with Faith & Beauty. Gemina is a gem & was so great to work with. We emailed pictures & ideas back & forth & met at a starbucks for the in person consult. I never did a trial with her, but LOVED my hair & make up day of. Lasted all day, our guests even commented how my hair & make up had held

I have reviews in my planning bio link. I used Makeup by Bev -Bev Kaneshege, she did awesome! I too flew in on thur, had my trial that evening & had a sat wedding. I could've skipped the trial because she was so good and it was perfect both times. Try not to cram too much in that short day and a half, I was running around like crazy.

Thanks everyone for the input. Gemina is booked so I went with Bev. The wedding coordinator had recommended her as well so I felt confident. I may take your advice and skip the trial. If I do a trial I may just have my hair person here do a hairstyle or two and take pictures and send them to Bev, as she was open to this.
