GREAT NEWS! Guess who got an offer on his house????

Hallelujah!  FI finally (after 3 false starts) got a solid offer on his house.  The offer came in last week (full asking price with $$ to the buyer @ settlement); inspection was Friday.  Everything seems on track for a settlement date of April 26.  Holy moly!  Moving date: April 15.

I can hardly believe it.  I have been thinking (seriously!) that he'd never get a decent offer and because he refused to have a back-up plan (to rent it), I'd resigned myself to starting married life living apart.  *sigh*

So, here I am, at the tender age of 50 -- gonna have a live-in.  First time ever.   Wow!  I'm gonna be shackin' up (for 2 1/2 mos).  ROTF LMAO!

LMAO!!  Good news about the offer...   Uh my FI and I have been "shacking up" more that 18 months!  LOL

Yay about the offer and such!!  I'm very happy that you will be together and able to live together when you are married!!!

ETA:  FI will sit on the couch or in a favorite chair get poked in the bottom and viola your engagement ring will have been found.

Yeah ... I just don't know where else to look.  My neighbors must think I'm losing it, walking up/down the sidewalk ... staring at the ground, back and forth ... back and forth!  LOL!  Maybe it will turn up during the move.  Things always get "found" when someone moves in/out, huh???  *fingers crossed*  It's happened before -- I found my lost grad school ring about 3 - 4 years after a move.  So, it may happen again.

Congrats Lisa, that's great news. My DH and I had a long conversation again last night because our timeline of moving in together has been pushed back. There is no way he can complete all the work my house needs for a move in date of this summer. We live very close to each other so we are together most nights anyway.

Thanks.  This has been stressful (for me and for him).  I hope that you and your DH don't have to push that timeline back any more.  Ugh!  I'm praying for you!

Great news Lisa! FI doesn't sell his house for now, but we putting in the market for renting by April. As a matter of fact, a coupe of friends that are getting married a little bit before us are very interested in the house because they leave in other county and work in Mont. County and this would be convenient for them. Praying to God for this happens soon!!!

    You hussy you!

That is great news.........too bad, cuz I was hoping if you ended up renting it I could see if my son could rent it, because he's graduating in May from GWU and his studio apt rent is outrageous.

My fiance can't sell his house, because he has an underwater mortgage AND an 18 yr old daughter with a baby living there,  and no job at the moment, so we will be dual-mortgage-payers well into the next couple of years. I think the only thing we will save money on is groceries, LOL.

Your son wouldn't have wanted FI's place ... it's in Woodbridge, 30 mi south of DC and a gruesome commute, only comparable to driving in southern California. But, I have a couple of friends who have rental properties, right in DC (within walking distance of Metro), so I'm sure we can find something more wallet-friendly for your son.  No worries!
