Twogether in Texas

Has anyone taken the Twogether in Texas marriage preparation course? We're interested in doing this program for the reduced price on our marriage license but we're having trouble finding any information about classses. We have searched the website and emailed the regional coordinator. Any advice?

We haven't gotten to this step yet but I would call a couple of the service providers in your area. You can ask them about the course that they offer for Twogether in Texas.  That is if you haven't already done so.

We''re not doing this course, but we will be attending a premarital course through Shoreline in North Austin. The course is free, we just have to purchase workbooks which run about $15 a workbook. This course covers topics such as communication, finances, roles and responsibiilities, sex and other topics. This course will allow us to receive a free marriage license.

You might have already seen the search button on their website, so this advice may not be helpful. I did a search with my zip and came up with this:

    http://www.twogetherintexas.com/UI/SearchProviderResult.aspx?city=&county=&zip=78741

I looked the list over to see if my church was listed and then talked to them about the class. I imagine you could contact any provider and ask their requirements (ie to they want you to be a part of the congreation of where they are hosting it). GL and HTH!

We went to a class ran by Ken & Shelby Cuthrell for this program which was secular if that's what you are interested in. I can send you a phone # to contact them directly if you'd like. trisha _ sumpter at yahoo dot com

We were going to do that as well, but I found the website very unhelpful. I emailed everyone in our area, and the only free classes I found were religious. I liked some LCSW and other therapist's classes, but they ran about $100 per session at 6-8 session.

I really wished they made it more assessible!!

We went to the Journey into Marriage class which met both our Church and Twogether in Texas requirements.  They were great and I highly reccomend it!

Here is the link with class schedule and contact info.
