Florist....help (kind of long!)

So I know some of you awesome ladies have posted on here about your florist and I never really paid any attention to it until NOW.

Long story short....
My bro is a florist and works for a company in china designing silk/fake flowers for major companies and told us that he would love to do our wedding flowers - as long as they were fake. I had no problem with this as he has done all of my sisters weddings and the arrangements are beautiful... but now we are truly considering fresh/real flowers for the bouquets, bouts, essentially all flowers at the ceremony. We've talked to my bro and he thinks it would be great if we did that as he'll be in China until a week before the wedding, then will be flying to NYC (where he lives) and then flying into Minnesota the week of the wedding. He's doing all of our centerpieces for the reception and will be shipping them to us but he doesn't want to do that for bouquets etc.

So, now we are looking for a Florist... Our wedding is in St. Cloud, but Fi's family will be coming from the cities and would be willing to pick up the flowers the day of. I know some of you had talked about florists that charge wholesale prices for the flowers and then just labor at a specific rate. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have met with 3 florist so far and am meeting with one more before I decide.  The one florist you are talking about is Jeni from Simply Stated Elegance.  I just met with her on Sunday and really liked her.  I have also met with Molly from Petals and Sprigs and Twigs and Sarah from SW Floral Design.  Jeni's prices were cheaper than Sarah's for the floral quotes I have gotten.  I haven't received mine from Molly yet becuase I just met with her on Monday.  I am also meeting with Lacey from Intuitive Blooms.  All 4 of these florist have received rave reviews on here so thats why I picked them to meet with.  I hope this helps in your search.

I have nothing but great things to say about Lacey from Intuitive Blooms.  She's delivering our flowers to Eagan (south of the metro) and I believe she lives north of the cities a ways and is charging us $30.  GL with your search.

We're using knottie lboerner's mom Lisa at Forget Me Not Floral Events. She is just starting a new company, but has lots of experience in other floral shops. She is charging us wholesale prices and a set amount for labor. We're even planning to go down to the wholesaler with her to look at our options, which even FI is excited to do! She's been great and we're really excited to work with her! PM me if you want her info.

I cannot say ENOUGH about Molly from Molly's Flower Studio. She is absolutely amazing. You tell her your budget and she'll make it work. She has been so fabulous, going back and forth with us to create beautiful options within our budget. I can't say enough - and her work seriously speaks for itself.

She has so many Thank You cards that it covers an entire door from her clients. Lots and lots of photos too for inspiration from what she has done. A true family-woman with a beautiful eye and so much education in flowers. She was spouting off stuff about how these two types of hydrangea's grow, what their life-span for a day is, the soil she'll get them from, when she'll order and how to treat etc... Just amazing

    Check her out!!!!

I have to recommend my florist-Deven Nelson.  She's not quite as cheap as Jeni from Simply Stated Elegance but is AMAZING.  She doesn't charge a delivery fee or set up fee for anything and also does not require a deposit.

For all of my ceremony flowers (bouquets, bouttonieres, and corsages it was about $500)

I absolutely was blown away with Jeni from SImply stated Elegance - GORGEOUS arrangements and she is TOTALLY affordable - she charges wholesale for the flowers (in fact this is where you meet her so you can see what your flowers will really look like) + $30/hr for labor. Look in my married bio for all the pics of the bouquets - mine was soo full and my BM too I was just blown away!!

Molly from Petals & Sprigs & Twigs.  Her quote was 1/3 the other two quotes we got (for the same request flower arrangements.)  She was also super easy going, and helped suggest some substitutions that would lower the cost without sacrificing the look.

We met with Lacey of Intuitive Blooms and didn't need to meet with anyone else after that. I love her. Her work is incredible. My full review and photos are in my bio, too.

But to speak to the cost, she's also ridiculously affordable!
