Budget Wedding in Cincinnati area

Hey everyone! My fiance and myself our currently looking for some wedding reception ideas in the Cincinnati area...we want somehting unique but unfortunantly we are on a budget as well...we have a total of $10,500 to spend total on the wedding and we need something affordable but fun for our guests. Does anyone have any ideas on reception sites, dj's, flowers, cakes, invitations and how to fit all of this within our budget? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    I would think that would go plenty far.  The key is to start with the basics - food, venue, etc. - and add on the little extras from  there.   I would start by figuring out where you want to have it and how many guests you're going to have.  The bulk of your budget will be things like food, reception hall, DJ, photog, etc.  So get the big things out of the way and then think about things that are smaller and can be "tweaked" like flowers, favors, etc. 

    I would also recommend browsing through this particular board.  There's a number of posts with endless suggestions on how to trim your budget.

    Try posting this on the Cincinnati Board also....look to the left and click on the link that says "Local Wedding Boards" and you'll find it there. That budget is definitely doable in Cincy and the local ladies will be glad to help you find budget friendly vendors.

    I heard the Spring Grove is priced very well. I have the same exact budget as you. I choose to get married on a Friday because the cost is significantly less (even more in the Winter!). I booked at Beckett Ridge Country Club and they are priced very well for a Friday. I hope that this helps!

    To start:

    The fastest way to trim your budget is to trim your guest list. I am not saying that you can't have a nice reception for the amount you have, I am just saying that your money goes farther the fewer guests and wedding party members you have.

    I'm very happy with all of my vendors thus far- and feel that they've provided pretty affordable options. Here are a few I'd recommend checking out!

    We are looking at the Mariner's Inn North also.  If you book before the end of March they are offering 10% off!

    We're on a budget... and we decided to go with Aston Oaks on the west side of Cincinnati.  I think their cheapest meal option is about $20/plate, but this includes all set-up, gratuity, and decor... so the only extra expense is sales tax.  With 200 guests, this price still might kill your budget, but be sure to ask venues about gratuity and other hidden costs.  We found that the hidden costs add up very quickly.

    Gollas-- All is going well so far w/ Mariner's Inn- North. Tom- the manager has been great to work with, good at getting back to all emails and phone calls, flexible etc. I liked it because the hall itself is only ONE banquet room-- which was appealing to us. Me fiance and I, with all our fam and friends will be the only people in the building, which makes it nice. Less to worry about (wedding crashers, theft of gifts, loud music next door during your romantic first dance, etc!)

    I will keep you posted! Have you visited it on site yet?
