Woke up with a migraine and today the heat index is going to be 110! I'm going to try to get off early and sleep. DH is home today because he's sick so we are just a ball of fun.
What are your weekend plans?
It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.

Congrats on the dog, Lenore. I love Pomeranians. They are so stinking cute.
We will probably go swimming tomorrow with stinkbutt and then we have a date night planned for Saturday night. Yay!
A group of us are going camping & canoeing for the weekend! So ready to get away, no cell phone reception, DH getting his mind off work.

[QUOTE]I'm sorry about the migraine too, Barb. I am so excited about my Pom I am not paying attention! Yes Cew I think they are unbelievably adorable, too. BB, I envy you the camping and canoeing. We have been hot/stormy (well, not S. Carolina hot, but still!) here the past few weeks and sounds like we are in for more this weekend-not great camping weather here now.

haha well its been hot here too! Today will be 105 with the heat index. But the nice thing, we are camping in a cabin this year! Not much to it, its just 1 big room with beds, so we will just sleep in there, but there is AC!!!
We're going to my step-cousins wedding on Sunday. At 6:30pm. I just find that odd.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
This weekend is going to be nice because we don't have anything planned so we can just relax.
Barb- sorry about the migraine. I get those too.. it always miserable...
Lenore- congrats! thats wonderful
Cew- aw I miss date night.. its been a long time since we've had one of those

I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing today at work. I'm tired and I'm just not feeling it today
Good Morning.
Barb- sorry about the headache, I've had a slight one that just stays there for 3 days now. I think it's the heat.
Cew- are you feeling any better? Where are you going for date night?
We have a few things to do around the house, and it's suppose to rain, so it will be inside work. Fun.
I wish I could take home a rescue puppy. I jusge my landlords for not letting us have any more pets. Getting Whisky here was hard enough.
I'm going shopping today for a few groceries and household stuff, and I might pick up a few movies to watch tonight and tomorrow with DH. Movies and a meal usually make up our date nights. Then I have to bring the landlords over to check out our mold issue. Fun stuff.
Oh, and a minor vent. Because of my toe issue, I've had to walk goofy the past few weeks. So now I have a horrible pain in my heel every time I step down. I swear it never ends with foot issues.
awww lenore you made my day - i do rescue so i love love love hearing ADOPTED!
as for me this weekend - hopefully get the stuff together ot make my card box, and for non wedding related i have an adoption event tomorrow (fingers crossed Lincoln breaks some hearts!)

J's taking a planned sick day today - for a root canal. He's having to go to an endodontist because he's got a funky root structure his regular dentist didn't want to touch. I have a feeling they're going to use more than a local on him, and I'll have to go get him afterwards (even though they say he doesn't need a ride).
As of tomorrow, I'm a RAGBRAI "widow" for 8 days.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

Today is J's birthday, so we're going out for steak tonight after I get off of work.
Time for the gym! Here's hoping I don't melt in the heat...

[QUOTE]G'Mornin' Y'all! Nebb, I voted for the last one in the poll. No wonder Don Draper has so many women! I'm supposed to be working at home today, but I'm catching up on knotting and the Tour de France. Maybe I'll work this afternoon... Lately here its been very humid, so I sweat like a freaking pig during bootcamp in the morning. To keep it from getting in my eyes (burn!), I end up wiping my face about every 5 minutes, and the salt exfoliates it. Yesterday my eye area burned when I put my lotion on after my shower. Today it was my whole face. It was SO painful, and it is a really gentle Cetaphil lotion. Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping the sweat out of my eyes so I don't have to wipe so often? I'm almost at the point where I'm going to have to rock the 80's white fuzzy headband.

Heheheheh hes HUGE!!
[QUOTE]Do like we do when we cycle. Wear the headband, but under a dorag. Some dorags have one built in. Actually, I only wear the rag, but it does help.

</div><div>I'll have to try that. I have a headsweats beanie type cap that I use under my bike helmet, but it makes me look like a gangsta waiting for his braids to get done. Hte headband under a bandanna could work. </div><div>
</div><div>I was thinking more about it, and I'm wondering if I'm secreting something through my sweat lately that my skin doesn't like. I did just change my diet and I have been getting more concentrated vitamins. weird.

Try a Bondi Band (<a href="http://www.bondiband.com/" target="_blank">link</a>). The heavy sweat wicking ones are freaking fantastic. The light wicking ones do ok, but I usually still need to wipe the sweat off. And, they stay in place fantastically on any shaped head.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Lenore, congrats on your new little family member! Raynes, I wear a baseball cap when I'm outside, that helps the sweat-related issue. Do you guys have Lululemon there? They have good stuff for hair etc during workouts.
It's going to be a nice weekend here, so I'm guessing we'll be spending the weekend on the boat wakeboarding etc. The kids are going to the Caribbean Festival with my parents. We have a friend that recently separated from his wife, and he's kind of lost, so he'll be with us as well.
We're meeting with a DJ tonight, so I'm hoping to have that squared away so it can be one less thing for me to think about while I'm teaching this year. Other than that, I have to finish up Vacation Bible School at church this weekend, and tomorrow FI's nephews and little sister are coming to stay with us for the week, so we'll have a 5,7, and 9 year old to entertain. I will probably be needind a lot of TK breaks.
Barb--I hope you and your H feel better. That's a sucky way to start Friday.
Lenore--congrats! Do you have pictures?
Date night ladies--have lots of fun, we haven't had a date night in a while, and I'm a little jealous :-)

<div>Thanks Rayne. I see these all the time and think they are cool, but I have really short hair so I wasn't sure how they'd look on me. I usually just wear a headsweats baseball cap, but its not working anymore. I think I'll go try one of these!</div>
Today was day 2 of my "No more bullshit" work out schedule and so far so good. I feel a lot better this morning than I have since vacation. Once Dh wakes up (yeah, it's 1:30pm lol, he had a long day at work yesterday) we're thinking of hitting up some stores for new window treatments for the dining room.
Missy, I had to go to an endodentist for my root canal (which took over two sessions). I got a local plus lots and lots of novocaine during the procedure, then vicodin afterwards. The first time Scott went with me because I was terrified but the second time I was able to drive home myself. My endo gave me an extra shot of novocaine right before I left so I didn't feel anything until about an hour later and could get myself home.

I've got relatively short hair (varries from earlobe to halfway to shoulders) and currently short bangs and the Bondi Band stays on great. It doesn't give much of the weird bump at the base of my skull either.
