Outdoor Venue

Well I'm getting married in October and we decided we want to do it outdoors.
The problem I'm having is finding a place.
I was considering the fountain on Vivion and N Oak, but I'm not sure that will accomidate up to 100 guests.
Any suggestions?
I would great appriciate it. :)

There are lots of parks that you can rent out, but beware of the weather trends and have a back up plan!!!

October in KC averages a high of 69, which is starting to get cooler and there are often surprise cold days and rain.  I was at a rental place arranging to rent chairs for my outdoor wedding in October and the father of the bride was desparately looking for gas heaters because the temperatures were in the 30's and his daughter was getting married in Shawnee Mission Park.

100 guests isn't too bad as far as finding a place to accommodate for that, for the chairs alone you would probably need about 600 square feet, 7-800 square feet after you add the area where you, FI, officiant, and attendants will be.

    Congratulations!!

I'm not too familiar with outdoor locations but I have come across a couple that I can think of off the top of my head:

    Hawthorne House
    Drumm Farm Golf Club

Are you wanting the ceremony & reception to be in the same place?

Jarrod and I are getting married in September. We looked at many outdoor venues and finally decided on the Elms Resort. They have a beautiful rustic brown gazebo with trees all around, and Lacee has been great to work with. They also have a back-up plan in their ballroom if it rains.

A few other places I looked:
    Longview Mansion
    Hawthorne House
    Powell Gardens

Well we have a hall for the reception. And it's probably going to be our back up in case of the weather.
I'm on a small budget, so The Elms is out of the question...

Also, the elms won't work b/c i have it booked 10-10-10.  There is the rose garden by loose mansion, or the Kansas city zoo (i thought abt that one),

We got married at the James P. Davis Hall in the Wyandotte county park.  It has a huge patio that overlooks the lake, and the hall is absolutely beautiful, so you can have it both indoors and out.  There's about six or eight french doors that open out to the patio to give it a nice flow.  We absolutely loved it, and it was very affordable, like $600 for the entire day, and you get your $200 security deposit back.  There's a big parking lot for the hall too, so you don't have to worry about parking.  I can send you pictures if you want.  there's some on my facebook and myspace too. just search Liz Ogle and you'll find me!
