Our wedding day started out very chaotic but turned out to be the best day!! A storm was luming over us as we were trying to decide wether or not to move the beach ceremony to the reception site. The original beach ceremony site was breach inlet on Sullivans Island. We had to move it across the inlet to Isle of Palms due to high tide and coastal flooding (originally you cant conduct business on their beach but the minister said they allow it now if everything from setup to tear down is done in under an hour) Despite the dark clouds and 45 mph winds we had a great sand ceremony!! Reception couldn't have been better...maybe if it could have never ended
Lowcountry Minister - Dr. Clarke was very prompt on emails and calls during planning process. Booked him in July for our May wedding said his calendar was wide open for our day and we could pick our time. Called to confirm the week of the wedding said he gets there 30 min prior helps get things rolling etc. He called me the morning of the wedding stated that he in fact booked another wedding at 5 pm (mine was at 530) and that he wouldn't be on time. He then went on to tell me that the ceremony that i picked out was short so ours didn't need to start on time, wasn't a big deal and that he would be there as soon as he could! This obviously didn't sit well with me the DAY of my wedding...our reception started at 6. In the end with the wind and storm coming he was early and they were waiting on me! I would give him a C+
Flowers - Whole Foods did our 2 bouquets, boutineers, coursages and loose rose petals for flower girls. They were a bargain that I would for sure do again!! When we did go to pick them up my bouquet was tiny and not what i pictured at all. They quickly unwrapped it and added some lillies to it and improvised as best possible and it turned out beautiful. Contact was Lindsey
We also ordered flowers from Horst Flowers - couldn't be more pleased great quality of hydreanges and orchids! Total cost of both places was $450 compared to the quote we did w/a local florist that was $1700!!!!!!! A++ for both!!!
Welcome Dinner - Sticky Fingers on Meeting St downtown. Food was great, awesome space, everything went wonderful
THey are a little hard to get ahold of and slow at returning calls though!! A
Cake - Publix in Mt Pleasant - tasted wonderful, guests stated best cake they ever had!! Unfortunately it looked nothing like the picture I gave them
Also they didn't put icing between the 3 layers of cake so when cut all the pieces were missing icing on top
Totally disappointed but at that point in the evening I just laughed. C-
this is what i wanted w/o the topper
this is what we got
DJ - Jay Maxwell Music By Request - Can't say enough great things about our experience from the phone calls and emails w/his wife Donna to our meeting on our way into town. He does provide "wow" service and never once did the party stop!! We danced all night
We did pay for the premium package and had Jay himself. A+++++
Charleston Black Cab Company - it was just ok, i called to confirm 2 weeks prior and they said they don't confirm until the monday before your wedding and she couldn't tell me wether or not they were coming - very frustrating!!! Our dj played our last song and as we danced and they prepared for our sparkler exit we were told they weren't there yet so the dj had to play another song and wait on them to arrive. For 85 dollars for ONE HOUR you think they could show up on time!! B-
The Pavilion at Patriots Point - Couldn't have pictured it any better if I tried. Lacy Davidson is the catering manager and she was wonderful the day of. She did coordinate every detail via phone and email. She rarely answered the phone but always responded back. We did scout out the place and see it in person back in July but never did do a taste testing since we live in Va. The food was fantastic!! (i was told) We did heavy hors cocktail hour with open premium bar for 5 hours. Lacy helped me pick out a buffet menu that didn't break our bank but meet the minimum amount. The staff we had was very friendly and the only complaint I would have thus far is that when they packed up the rest of our cake to go at the end of the night they smashed our anniversary cake pretty bad

Makeup - last but not least, we were in Charleston in October and I paid 90 dollars for an airbrush trial run w/Powder Puff to Brushes. Booked my wedding day appointment and never heard back from them. I tried confirming all my vendors 2 weeks prior to the wedding and the phone number I had for Jacey (owner) her voicemail box was full. This was not a good sign. So i googled till i found an email-from a different email somebody named Danielle state Jacey took off to LA and she was new manager, i didn't have an appointment...so the week of the wedding i took whatever appointment i could find.....
Jill at Paloosh was awesome!!! Told her what happened what i liked and didn't liked and the makeup she did was better than the trial run previously by the first place! I would recommend her highly, she knows her stuff and is great at it!!!
A+++
Please feel free to email me
clsherrick@cox.net for any info for any of these vendors, I couldn't have planned our destination wedding to Charleston w/o the knot
