  • Friday the 13th is just another day and I think it's perfectly fine to marry on a Friday the 13th!  a wedding day is a beautiful thing, no matter the date!

[QUOTE] Second, Friday the 13th being bad luck is believed to have started with the arrest of the Templar Knights in the 12th century, which took place on a Friday the 13th.  It was a pretty major event in the known European world and took place on multiple countries, all around the same time.  There is no such thing as luck!

<div>I'm pretty sure that's not entirely true, at least outside of a Dan Brown novel. A lot of the superstition come from the idea that both Friday and the number 13 are unlucky (for various reasons) and the combination doubles it. Also, Tuesday the 13th is unlucky in some countries too.   <a href="http://www.snopes.com/luck/friday13.asp" rel="nofollow">http://www.snopes.com/luck/friday13.asp</a></div><div>
</div><div>As someone who actually does believe in luck to an extent, Friday the 13th has never heald any particular meaning to me. I think superstitions only mean as much as you make them mean. </div>

  • 14 or 4 is unlucky if your strongly supersitious and chinese...6 is associated with imperfection in some cultures, if you care about numbers being lucky for your wedding, you might never get married since almost every number has something connected to it somewhere in the world.

  • I don't think it's bad luck, but I would avoid it simply out of not wanting to listen to EVERY guest guest comment on it and it's unlucky potential (possibly thinking that they are the first person to cleverly notice it)!
  • It's just a day. :) And congratulations!
  • I think it would be kind of cool - it's like you're saying, screw bad luck, we will overcome it and not let anything bad come between us...we'll make an unlucky date and awesome evening. But there will definitely be superstitious guests that will comment on it and think it MUST mean your marriage won't last. *eye roll*
