TMI with the RSVP cards! My bleeding eyes!

Is anyone else getting little notes back with your "no" responses? I've never written on an RSVP card, nor have I enclosed little notes with any of them. I just check no, send a gift, and call it a day.

Apparently, I'm abnormal. Here is what I've received so far:
* One couple can't make it and they hope we don't hate them for not attending.
* A single person with a +1 can't make it because she's going through a divorce and can't be happy for us.
* A single guy can't make it because he's going to Vegas that weekend to see strippers.
* A couple can't make it because the wife is going to have a hysterectomy and they can't afford to travel and pay the co-pays for the surgery.
* Someone can't make it, but "we'll just send a check and call it even."

WHY don't you just check "Sorry, I/we must decline" and mail the thing back? I really don't need all kinds of details about your uterus and your love of strippers. I really don't.

Anyone else receiving these kinds of responses or do I just seem to invite people to share too much?

Wow. No. Just a couple "Yay! We can't wait to see you!" notes so far. We got a verbal explanation for why a friend couldn't come, but otherwise people have just said no.

What in the world? Yes totally unnecessary. I haven't gotten that, but then again, only did online and phone RSVPs.

Hah, wow. We've gotten some notes written on the back of our "no" rsvps too, but they were all to the effect of "we'll be thinking of you on the day" or "we wish we could be there with you". Definitely no TMI stuff. Weird.

Wow. I've gotten a few little notes back in both Yes and No responses. My godmother wrote something to the effect of she wouldn't miss it for the world. Two of my cousins who live OOT and have young children said No and both wrote appologies on theirs along with congratulations. My FIs cousin (who is getting married in May) wrote on hers that she and her FI couldn'd get time off work, which we understood but he was still a little upset they couldn't make it. Still have many more that need to come so hopefully I won't get any little notes with TMI.

Hahaha! That's awesome! I got a no with a check from a great aunt and uncle and another no from a great aunt that said her health wouldn't permit her to travel. Fair enough, she's in her 80s. We also got a, "YAYYY!! Can't wait to see you! We're leaving the kids at home, woohoo!" Hehehe :-)

We got a couple of nos with little notes but nothing major...one said no due to poor health and another said that they will be thinking of us on our day.

LOL! We got one note with a no RSVP explaining why they couldn't make it, but it was just that the timing isn't right. No on has given me a reason that I wish I didn't read lol. That's pretty funny.

Wow. We've gotten some notes but nothing TMI. More just "hey, sorry we can't make it, will be thinking of you though!" sort of stuff. One friend wrote an email to us to explain but it wasn't anything weird - more just why she couldn't make it and hopes to see us soon.

The stripper one made me laugh outloud though

Nothing major - one from Grandpa and StepGrandma saying that Gpa's health won't let him travel, one from a friend saying she can't take time off of work due to taking so much time off to care for her Mom, who is sick, and a detailed Facebook message (instead of the RSVP card) saying that my cousin is in a competiotion for the Saxophone and they have to go to DisneyWorld and cannot afford 2 trip in a short amount of time. As much as I did not need an explanation from anyone, those were kind of nice because the RSVP with just the NO checked and nothing else written was kind of impersonal. I would have written something like "I'll be thinking of you" or something other than just checking a box. TMI ones are funny though Chi.

Wow, what?? That is insane!! Who does that?? The only thing I had was my brother only filled in his name, forgot his wifes and crossed out with pleasure, and wrote in reluctantly, so it said "accepts reluctantly" LOL.

OK, now I feel like a dufus. lol

My family and friends are a great group - very laid back and definitely willing to share pretty much anything that's on their minds. It would not surprise me at all to hear these reasons verbally for something like dd's birthday party but yeah..... for a wedding, I would think they'd keep some things a bit more formal.

20 RSVP's to go - I wonder what else I'll have the pleasure of reading. lol
