Yellow and Purple

Hi Ladies. I have only been engaged three weeks but I have already got so much planning done. I chose plum and canary as my colors which are obviously just a dark purple and a light yellow. I dont know if my family is being honest about liking these colors or if they are just being nice. Anty thoughts? Thank you!

I think it could look quite nice. I would go rich, deep colors if it's an autumn wedding. More vibrant if it were spring.

Depending on time of year your wedding is, I might go with Lavender instead of Plum. You can always still add the Plum with the bouquets.

Its an evening outside wedding and the bridesmainds both really look great in the plum but neither would look good in lavender. It washes them out. I hate being the doubtful bride! haha. Thank you ladies!

I like dark purple and pale yellow together. I like the dramatic contrast that color scheme provides. Will the grooms men be wearing black or dark grey?

what about a more pale shade of yellow? When I think of canary I bright yellow bird.

We planned to use purple and yellow. When we decided to move the wedding up from August to December, I changed the yellow to gold, so we went with an aubergine purple and gold. Purple and yellow are complimentary colors, so you're good to go!

Throw in green and you'll have Mardi Gras colors. Honestly, that was my first thought.

We've chosen a deep plum and yellow also. The bridesmaids will be in plum dresses carrying yellow calla lilies. Most decorations will be plum with just a hint of yellow thrown in so the yellow isn't overpowering.

If it is a fall or formal wedding make the yellow gold. SOOOO rich looking. Accent with copper or pumpkin and you have the colors of my bedroom. I love that combination. Purple Orchids look beautiful and try adding a few feathers to your bouquet.
