Hair Stylist Recs? (XP with TN)

My hair is in desperate need of a cut and color... my eyebrows are even more desperately in need of a waxing.  I live up in BP, so NW locations are good.  I also work at the U, so anywhere in that area is fine too.

 

I have been going to HCX for the past few years, but they cycle through stylists all the damn time.  The last girl completely ruined my hair, and I've been terrified to go back there now. I think it's time for me to be an adult and actually start goign to the same stylist regularly.

 

Bonus points for a stylist who's really good with curly hair :) I've been struggling to get mine to 'work' for awhile.

    I see Megan at Sonja's salon in BP, right off of bklyn blvd. I too have curly hair and she is amazing. Kari also gets her hair done by her. If you would like her contact info I would be more than happy to provide it to you.

    Well, it sounds like you already have a perfect recommendation, but I'll throw one in too... Salon Lili in Minnetonka (yeah, it's probably a little further south than you'd want.) They seriously have the best stylists ever. Everyone specializes in one particular thing, so you would get assigned both a stylist and a colorist... and they're really good about not expecting you to switch around once you find ones you like. Currently, I go to Ashley for my cut and Dana for color. Dana, in particular, is ammaaaazing. They also have a really great waxing staff.

    I used to go to HCX, too. I sort of miss it, but I know exactly how you feel. I went to the same girl there for years.... and then she went on maternity leave and I had a horrible experience with someone else and then never went back.

    Emily at Todaze Hair in Blaine is great, too. I have curly hair and have many ruined haircuts, but she never has! My mom goes to her for color and loves her too.

    Shawn at the Uptown Hair District. I've been going to her for over 12 years. She has curly/wavy hair herself, so I'm sure she knows all the tricks.

    I really like Dawn at Merrill Hair Designers in Plymouth. If you tell her I referred you, you'll get 20% off. I'm not sure what she charges for color services, but a cut is $43. It's maybe not your ideal location, but it's easy to get to -- I drive there from Richfield.
