I definitely recommend Creative Cakes in Tinley Park.  Our wedding cake was from Creative Cakes and it tasted wonderful.  Whenever I need a special occassion cake that is the bakery I will go to from now on.  Another nice thing they do is on your one year anniversary they give you a fresh small cake that is the same flavor as your wedding cake so you don't have to have freezer burnt cake a year later.  I can't wait for our one year anniversary to have the cake again - yum yum!

There is a picture of our cake in my vendor reviews link below.

Fleckenstein's in Mokena has GREAT cakes!  My south 'burbs family uses them all the time.

We did a tasting with Leeson's and they have very good stuff.  The only reason we didn't use them was because we decided to go with something a bit less traditional.

creative cakes is SOOOOO good but expensive.  4-5$ pp depending on if you want butercream or fondant.  In orland (or near) you have orland bakery on 143rd & lagrange, fleckenstein's in Mokena (Very sweet frosting, cake itself was excellent), Leeson's is in Tinley Park, But I would highly recommend Naples Bakery in Evergreen Park 95th & Lawndale. it worked out to be able 1/2 the price of creative cakes, plus there's coupons on their website or they give a discount if your venue is a prefered venue.

    Just my opinion though :)

    Hey,
I don't post much on here anymore, but we used Fleckensteins in Mokena for our wedding cake in october.  They were awesome. We also used creative cakes for our rehearsal cake, I really wanted to go with them for the wedding cake, but they were hella expensive, and i wanted pound cake, which they don't offer that and wouldn't budge.  I think that what we did was a good way to incorporate what we wanted (rehearsal cake) with what was practical (wedding cake from fleckensteins). Hope this helps.
