Former Knottie now MOH - Bachelorette Party Help

Hello Ladies!

I am a former knottie looking for some help and advice. I am my sister in-law to be's MOH and I am trying to plan her bachelorette party in the Detroit area. I am thinking of doing a Lingerie shower at my place then head out for dinner somewhere nice. This party will have no drinking and most of the girls are younger (she is 21). Any ideas where we could go for the night out? Fun, classy atmosphere is what I am looking for. Also any fun game ideas? (she doesn't want any penis things involved)

TIA!

  • Detroit Area, MGM casino is good (club V) depends what kind of music you are into . They are mostly house and pop top 40. They have IGNITE upstairs that is straight hip hop (my favorite) IF you are bringing a ton of girls I can put you in contact with the resident DJ for both who will either give you free entry or a table for the party etc.

If youre looking for something smaller or 'nicer' I would try birmingham, The Corner Bar (more upscale) , Commune Lounge (great on Fridays but no tables) , Hamilton room is huge on Fridays but my friends Rob and Rob have taken over the party promotion for there and the South bar and its a much different crowd.

Ive heard great things about Tin Fish in Novi , and they apparantly give free tables to bachelorette parties with so many people.

  • You said most of the girls are younger and there will be no drinking-so I'm assuming most of the group will be under 21? Have you thought about a spa day? My MOH is planning on that for my bachelorette. We are going to spend a few hours at a spa and then go out for dinner somewhere. I'm not sure what the budget is so that kind of puts a limit on restaurant ideas but I know Bourbon Steak is good with groups and Andiamo's Riverfront is also.

  • OH geez...well if they are under 21 none of the places I listed will work ! Sorry!
  • Here is something we were going to do with my wedding party, but it got cancelled due to one of the 4 BM being unable to come (so we did the spa thing). I also recommend a spa event if my recommendation below isn't what you'd all enjoy.

There is a store in Royal Oak called "Creative Arts Studio", it's on 4th Street just west of Main. LInk here: http://www.creativeartsstudios.com/

You can arrange to schedule a private room they have in back and pick a crafty thing to do, like paint ceramics, make glass plates or candle holders, beading, mosaics, and they've recently added wax hands.

It's really for all ages, and since 2 of my 4 BM were under aged, it would have been fun. My daughter and I have gone there a couple of times and had a blast. You don't have to be really crafty to get the hang of it, they have things on display to use as examples.

We were going to do the above, then go to dinner somewhere in Royal Oak.

Alas, I wish we'd been able to do this.

    Good luck.
  • Oh yes! what Sue said! Ive seena lot of my girlfriends posting on FB they go to this painting studio called Painting with  a Twist in Ferndale. . everyone paints the same thing and someone instructs. Looks like a lot of fun .
  • You could play the panty game. Everyone brings the bachlorette a pair on new unwrapped panties and she has to guess who brought which pair.

I just did this at a party I threw and I hung a clothes line up were everyone hung the panties the brought. It made a very cute decoration too.

  • what about a spa day and then you end up at your place for a super casual dinner, lingerie shower, relaxed environment?

  • In regards to a fun game, I've been to a few bachelorette parties where, prior to the party, one of the girls met with the groom, asked him a series of questions about the bride, and videotaped all of his responses. Then at the bachelorette party you ask the bride the question, she gives her answer, then you play the part of the video watching the grooms answer. If their answers match, yay! If not, make the bride do something goofy (normally a jello shot but in an under 21 case you could get creative). It's really fun for all the girls to watch the video of the groom, it's usually very funny!!
