August 2012 Weddings

Sh*t Brides Say-IRL ;)

I'm growing my hair out.

This is my usual length:

Oct. 2011
And right now it is here:

Jan. 2012

Anyone else doing it?
Based on this growth I think it could be a decent length by August... But I must trim it ASAP.

And of course I know LOTS of looks can be pulled of swimmingly with shorter hair. I just want a lot of hair to work with for a more dramatic effect. That is at least how I see it.

Re: Sh*t Brides Say-IRL ;)

  • Mine is usually pretty long, and then I get bored and on a whim have 6 inches chopped off... so it's pretty long right now, and I'm resisting the urge and just having it trimmed so I can keep it long for the wedding.

  • Mine's VERY short (usually shorter than chin-length), so I hope to get it shoulder-length by the wedding.  I want to pull off this look:

And this is my hair now (I'm on the left):

So I think I can pull it off by August!

Thanks!  I saw that picture and it just felt like it was really a picture of me on my wedding day, even though I haven't gotten married yet.  Like it felt like I was looking at myself.  Is that strange?  It was just PERFECT, even the color!

I think it'll work if I grow my hair a bit more, don't you think?

Yes! I'm trying to grow mine out too. Mine used to be so long - almost more than half-way down my back. But it was really gross and so I chopped it off to just a bit below my shoulders. I miss my long hair so much so I'm trying to keep it healthy and grow it out a bit. I've heard that biotin works and so does prenatal vitamins, and also wearing it up more. So I'm gonna attempt to try some type of vitamin to see what happens. Good luck!
  • calindi- totally!

jess-I was just reading that prenatal vitamins don't do any more than regular multivitamins. That they are made for pregnant/recently pregnant women exclusively, and so they can do bad things to a woman's body. I can't recall the specific issues but google it.
  • I have been growing my hair out for a few years in anticipation of someday needing it for my wedding lol!  I have clip-in extensions and went to try them on for my up-do and my hair is a good three-four inches longer than them!

Okay so I compared the ingredients in the prenatal vitamins and the regular adult multi vitamins and I didn't see a whole lot of differences. As in each serving had the aout the same amount of A, C, D, B6, B12, etc. I'm not quite sure what the difference is.

The prenatal vitamins have Niacin (20 mg/100%): "Niacin is used with diet changes (restriction of cholesterol and fat intake) to reduce the amount of cholesterol and certain fatty substances in your blood. Niacin is also used to prevent and treat pellagra (niacin deficiency), a disease caused by inadequate diet and other medical problems. Niacin is a B-complex vitamin."
  • I am not growing my hair out but not cutting it either. I actually think you have a great length to do something with.

I have a TON of hair and its really thick and long. I just saw this photo of me and looks like I need a straightener ASAP and a haircut!

I see this one and I think "omgosh I had a lot of layers going on"
  • I was trying to grow my hair really long for my wedding then last saturday 2/4 I got it colored....it fried my hair! I basically had a mullet =[ I just got it cut up to about my chin. I'm hoping that I can get it semi long for the wedding, I have a really round face so short hair makes it look even more round. So from now till the wedding I have to get trims and conditioning treatments to help it grow faster =[
