Tented Reception... anyone done it?

I'm looking for an outdoor venue for my wedding and reception, AND I'm trying to keep to a smaller budge (roughly $7000 if possible).  I'm having a hard time finding nice outdoor spaces that don't gouge you with food costs or rental fees, so I'm also looking for outdoor areas where I can do a tent set up instead.  I've gotten some price lists, but they are so overwhelming!  I don't know what I'll need and what I wont!  I keep hearing it's very expensive, but am having a hard time figuring it out on my own... has anyone looked into it or done it?

While I've never looked into it, I'd be weary of doing a tent rental and assembly. Your venue will probably demand that you get insurance at that point. While I'm not knocking your idea, I would probably look into outdoor facilities that have pavilions on site. Oh, and to answer your question on cost, I know that Sun Rental posts on their website the cost of various tents that they own so hopefully that will give you an idea of what you'd be looking at.

3 words. Hot, hot, hot. Or cold. Or muddy..
You're better off going to a community center if you're trying to keep your cost down

No idea on pricing, but have you looked into the Puskas Outdoor Party Center in Lorain? They have a pavilion on-site for receptions.

Also, depending on how big of a guest list you have, how about somewhere in the Cleveland Metroparks? They allow alcohol at some of their facilities (beer and wine only, NO liquor) if you get a special permit from them. They have several reservable pavilions throughout the area.

Tented means more generally for the following reasons -
EVERYTHING needs to be rented.tents, tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, barware, catering staff, bartender/bar area, sound system, dance floor, lighting, bathrooms, etc.
THe list goes on.THere are plenty of indoor/outdoor venues around town that could fit your budget - depending where you live, check out mapleside farms Brunswick, Patterson Fruit Farm (east side) Quailcrest Farm, Wooster, etc.
