DJ Lighting vs Pro lighting

Is there a difference when it comes to the LED cans?  I mean why are lighting companies so much more expensive?  Is it better quality?

not sure but  i think lighting companies use panel lights instead of led cans.  They cover more area because they are larger flat lights like rectangles rather than circles.  I believe they are also brighter.  If your dj is using a basic can light with a gobo instead of an led can, that can make it a lot cheaper. An led creates color through small individual light bulbs. It can change color quickly and sometimes even to the beat of the music.  A regular can with a gobo has a thin sheet of colored gel paper inside to give color.  the sheet has to be changed in order for the color to change.

Pro lighting is so much better. DJs with lights generally only have a couple of fixtures and they rarely light the whole room. You will save money with a DJ, but the effect is not nearly the same. Pro lighting is more expensive because they have way more fixtures and they take the time to actually plan out the lighting design of the room and not just throw a few lights up. I was SO happy with the lighting company I used .  They were called Tombstone Entertainment. THey were SOOO much more affordable than anything I've ever seen, and they lit not only the inside of my reception hall but the outside as well. and they were just really professional. Anyways, there is a big difference. You kinda get what you pay for.

I am using my DJ's lighting..He is providing LED can lights for me..I could not justify the $2500+ cost of professional lighting. Pro lighting companies charge so much more because they all do EVERYTHING..I just wanted lights in certain areas of the room..GL!
