Ceremony Venue

Hey Everyone,

First post here, and im hoping you can help me out. We found a great place for the reception, but wanted somewhere different for the ceremony. We arent church people but wanted a cool location around the city to have the ceremony.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

    Welcome!

Where is your reception venue? That might help narrow down possible ceremony venues nearby.

Can you have your ceremony and reception at the same place?

We are having the reception at Rosehill venue and we CAN have it there but we were hoping for a different location. It's a fantastic reception local but i dont know how i feel about it for the actual ceremony.

That's a great venue! We loved it and we would have booked it except that it wasn't quite big enough. I know what you mean about it not being the best for the ceremony though.

Hmm... I don't really know that area very well. Maybe somewhere downtown... Knox College at U of T is very popular. Or Allan Gardens?

My FI and I originally thought we might have our ceremony somewhere other than a church, but that ended up being really complicated.  A lot of places we would have liked to do it would only let us have the ceremony there if our reception was going to be there too.  Others weren't big enough for all of our guests.  In the end, we discovered that our officiant couldn't perform the ceremony outside of a church and we decided that we wanted to use a church after all.

It didn't work out for us, but hopefully you find something that works for you.  I used this site: http://www.eventsource.ca/venues.aspx to find places I wanted to contact.  Good luck!

What about a park?? That's where we are having our ceremony.  I'm excited. as it's the park where we visited the first night we got together.

How many people are you thinking about?

  • Hi !

I am looking into this as well, but specifically on the CNE grounds or somewhere close downtown / Etobicoke area.

I've looked into parks but it would seem like they are usually for 100 or less, and standing only (no chairs allowed). You also need a permit, here's the City's website in case you are interested:

This is still an option but we would prefer an indoor place just in case it rains... any suggestions would help!
