This board is soo slow today!! I am bored at work!!

So I am still stressing over whether or not I want to bring my wedding rings with me on our honeymoon. I am not worried about them getting stolen or us getting jumped. This is my thing I don't trust hotel room safes so if I bring them they are never leaving my finger!!

However we are going to be in Aruba for 10 days. I am not sure that I want to bring them b/c of using sun tan lotion on the beach. I just want them to remain sparkly. I feel like if I wear them for 10 days straight at the beach they will get dirty.

What do you guys plan on doing? I am so excited to get my rings and to be able to wear them I am going to be very sad to leave them at home.

I am bring them with me to Aruba. For some reason FI doesn't want me to leave them at home but I may just bring my wedding band.

I was originally going to wear both my e-ring and wedding bands but now I'm seriously thinking I shouldn't. I got my e-ring resized, but it is still really loose on me. After putting on my wedding bands yesterday to snap a quick picture for yesterday's thread, I noticed the wedding bands have gotten loose on me, too.

I'm thinking I may just wear 1 wedding band to Hawaii. I'll have the rest of my life to enjoy them.

I'm bringing my rings with, but I trust hotel safes, so I won't have a problem putting them in there if I don't want to wear them for some reason. Did you have a bad experience with hotel safes?

I've seen in other threads that some people will buy cheap fake rings to take on a HM. Maybe you can look into that?

I saw this show on tv maybe it was a dateline or something where hotel staff were breaking into the hotel safes. They need to reset the safes after each person leaves so there is 1 generic code that they type in to reset them. IDK it just makes me nervous.

I'm doing the same thing. I've never had any problems leaving my jewelry in hotel safes before. In the off chance something does happen, my rings are insured.

lady i am with you, it makes me nervous too. my plan is to wear my wedding band and never take it off, but to leave my e-ring at home. I want to wear something, but I don't want to be constantly worrying about what is happening to my ring. Like others said, we have our whole lives to wear our rings

They sell fake bands/e-ring sets at Nordstrom for like eighty bucks I think. my fiance wanted me to get them for the honeymoon but I decided just to wear the band since it isn't as valuable as my e-ring.

We are going to Aruba too and I am def wearing both of my rings. Aruba is a safe location with tons of honeymooners, so I highly doubt you would be targeted out of everyone there. We went on a week cruise in the caribbean in October and I had my e-ring on the whole time and never even thought twice about it. I've never taken my ring off since I've gotten it. I wear it in the shower, beach, golfing, to bed...I take it to the jewelers every other month or so for cleaning. If your rings are fully insured then I wouldn't worry about it. The rings are built to be worn everyday and to wishstand daily living. Diamonds are the hardest material out there. Flaunt them!

Thanks!! I think I am just going to wear them. I have my e-ring insured I just need to add my 2 bands onto our policy before the honeymoon. Right now they are locked up in a safe so I am going to wait as the date gets closer to insure them.

I'm not bringing my e-ring to Africa. No effing way. I don't care that it's insured - I would be devastated if I lost it because it's the ring fiance proposed with, and/or if it was conspicuous and gave us unwanted attention. Plus, I won't need to get glitzy and I certainly won't be showing it off to my safari ranger guide

I may, however, bring my wedding band since it's just a thin band with diamonds all around it and it's not super noticeable.

We're going to the Black Hills in South Dakota, and are going to be doing a lot of caving and rock climbing...I'm really, really on the fence. I hate taking the ring off, but we're doing a lot of pretty intense stuff where it could get damaged. But, they're completely insured, and we bought a policy that re-does all the rhodium plating, plus re-sizing, re-setting, pretty much everything as many times as we need.

But, at the same time, I don't want to lose the ring my fiance proposed to me with.

I think I asked this way back when we were first looking at honeymoons and going to Jamaica, and almost everyone said they were taking their rings, but I might just wear my real wedding band and get a fake cz engagement ring. I don't know. I'm just still undecided.

I've flip-flopped because I know I'll be taking it off- I don't wear it now when I exercise, shower, sleep, etc so I'll definitely take it off there. Right now, I think I will bring it to St. John's, but it's insured.
