Keratin Treatments

Hi Ladies!

I was wondering if anyone here has gotten a keratin treatment?  If so, where did you get it done?  Also, how did you like it, how long did it last, etc?  Thanks for any input!

I get the brazilian blowout every 3 months.  Some people prefer the keratin treatments over the brazilian because the original brazilian contains small amounts of formaldahyde; though brazilian did come out with a new zero line that does not have formaldahyde.

I have not had any issues with getting mine the 5 times I have now gotten them with the exception of the time the stylist recommended I leave the solution in overnight which I do not recommend doing with the original solution.

I LOVE them I have thin, curly, and frizzy hair.  Without the treatment it takes me 15-20 min to blowdry then 15-20 to straighten at a minimum and the second there is any rain or humidity its pony tale time, and letting my hair air dry is just not an option.

With the treatment my hair will blow dry in about 10 min (mostly straight) then maybe 5 min with a flat iron and I am good to go, and they last through just about any weather.  Most of the time though I just let my hair air dry (so I dont have to use heat) then run the flat iron for a few min.

If you have thicker hair I can only imagine how much time and hassle you would save.

The treatment lasts about 3 months, for me the main reason I have to get it redone is the new hair growth around my hairline that isnt treated is too frizzy not that the treatment has faded.  It has kept my hair in wonderful condition.

My final thoughts are obviously that I love it but you have to balance that with whatever problems you may have with the ingredients they are using and if you get the keretin and not brazilian the results are not as good but do not have the possibly harmful ingredient.

ETA: I get mine done where there is a groupon because I refuse to pay 300-400.  I always get mine for 100-200.
