Fathers Day Wedding Ideas

Hello ladies!

So FI and I have been engaged for well over a year now, and our wedding is this June. Well it happens to be on fathers day and we didnt realize this when we booked it in Oct 2008. So I wanted to do something special for all of the fathers that will be attending our wedding. I was thinking of giving them some type of small gift/favor or making some sort of announcement to recognize all of the dads there. I just want them to be noticed on their day too!

Everyone on this board is always so creative sooooo....Any ideas?

    I think this is very sweet of you to want to do something! Perhaps you could arrange to have a flower at each dad's placesetting with a small happy Father's Day note, or dedicate a song to them over dinner?

    I like the idea of dedicating a song or even if you or FI take the mic to say thank you mentioning the fathers in the crowd. 

    At our wedding we had all the mothers/sons & father/daughters join in halfway thru the mother/son dance.  I thought it was a really nice touch...maybe you can do something along those lines?

    This might be a weird idea and I have no idea how much it would cost but what about cigars??  I'm not suggesting doing a live cigar roller but you can have them ordered in advanced and they'll put a custom band around it that says happy fathers day or something like that and then you could put them on the Fathers' place settings.  Might be fun if you have a group of Dad's that would like cigars!!

    I had seen Boston Cigars recommended on the knot at some point from a girl who had them do cigar rolling at her wedding and kept the name because I thought it was good idea.

    On their website is where I saw that you can order in advance and put specialty bands on them.  I don't think they list pricing on the site though.  I don't know anything about cigars but it might be something you could find cheaper online with a little research

    PS... I kind of like the cigar idea as something fun to display at the bar area too.... that way only the people that really would enjoy a cigar can take one.

    I think it depends on your crowd - my dad isn't a cigar guy but he LOVES golf. Maybe doing something that you know the men would really like?

    If it were me, I'd get balls and tees and leave them on the table for the dads.

    Great idea to highlight a special day for the dads!
