2 flower girls?

My fiance and I are getting married in June. He has two kids, a 6 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. I also have a 5 year old niece and 7 year old nephew. He obviously wants his kids to be in the wedding and I want my niece and nephew. We were originally just going to have 2 ring bearers and 2 flower girls but we have decided to have his son be the ring bearer and my nephew is going to escort my mom down the aisle. I'm trying to think of a different "job" for his 10 year old to do. I think it would be better for my niece to be the flower girl because she is younger but his daughter is sooo excited to do it. Does anyone have any suggestions of how she can still be in the wedding without being a flower girl?

  • There is nothing wrong with having 2 flower girls. Maybe you could have one throwing down petals and have the other carry a here comes the bride sign.

  • At 10 you could always make her a jr. bridesmaid.

  • She doesn't need a "title" or a "job".

Let her wear a pretty dress (one that matches the bridesmaids or not) and order a small bouquet for her to carry. She can walk down the aisle in the procession if that's important to you and FI, or she can be seated in the front row with your families.
  • We had 2, and they just both threw flowers. Easy.
  • We actually had 3 flower girls.  You can do whatever you want. I like the idea of PP of having the older girl be a junior bridesmaid.

  • You can do whatever you want with her, but being that these are about to be your kids too, you should give her the role she wants- if she wants to be a FG, have 2 and have her petals be a different color or something like that.

  • I agree that she could be a jr bridesmaid, but at the same time why not have two flower girls? When my parents got remarried (both of them) my two sisters and I were flower girls in both weddings. We walked down the aisle one at a time, the youngest first, and threw flowers.

  • She could be a bridesmaid or junior bridesmaid.
  • We had two flower girls who were the daughters of my MOH.  Our wedding colors were dark blue and green, so one threw dark blue flower petals and the other threw green petals.  They were 3 and 4 at the time, so they definitely stole the show.

  • When I was 7, I was one of 4 flower girls in my uncle's wedding. I remember loving getting all dressed up with my other girl cousins.

  • We are having 2 flower girls at our wedding.  We are not allowed to drop petals int he church so tboth girls are carrying baskets with a flower arrangement in them.  They are going to walk down the aisle together.

  • I will be having three flower girls.  They are my fiance's nieces, and we don't want any of them to feel left out.

  • Talk it over with her and ask how she wants to be involved.
