    I read this too!  Remarkable isn't it??  Modern medicine is amazing and I look forward to more cures being discovered!!  Good luck to you and your career!

    As a virologist who has studied HIV, I'd caution that this situation is NOT the norm, nor will it ever be... bone marrow replacement leading to a cure just won't work for everyone.

    But it was an amazing find when it happened in the field, and definitely gives us all a lot of hope that we will find better treatments for that disease.  While an HIV vaccine looks like it's a bigger problem than any of us imagined, the fact that drugs make HIV a manageable chronic disease and not an immediate death sentence is a huge thing too.
