Wedding website on invitation?

Is it okay to put the wedding website on the invite? I am just doing one 5x7 card, no inserts or anything. Is it a faux pas?

  • Yeah, just suck up the extra minimal cost and do the insert. Really, you can do the inserts so inexpensively.

  • Hey everyone,

Can I ask where and how you ordered the inserts? Like business cards? I have already ordered the invites and stuff but have logistics like ferry times to get to the reception and hotel recs....any help/advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Alanna

  • The issue with doing inserts is that I then have to do the pocket fold as well, which I am not doing. My stationery budget for 125 invites is 100 dollars, which leaves pretty much zero wiggle room! Argh!

  • Why do you need to do a pocket fold? Just slip it behind the invitation in the envelope.

Can you add the logistical information to a wedding website (Weebly.com has good free ones), and just print "For more information including transportation and accomodation needs, please visit us at on the insert?

I made 125 invites on about that much money. Hand made pocket folds with an RSVP post card and an information insert. Its doable! Vistaprint has a lot of deals where you can get the postcars for free and just pay shipping.

My friend and I both had our wedding website addresses on our 5x7 invitations along the bottom (ie. "For more information about the big day or to RSVP online, please visit...). We included the name of the church and reception venue on the invitation, but not the times and location (that's what the website is for). As long as it's formatted nicely, I don't think it matters. I would rather have everything tidy on one card (as both bride and invitee) than open an envelope and have a bunch of cards. Then again, we're both Eastern European and living in Canada, and our friends and families are not the sorts of people who would even remark, much less say anything to us about the website being on the invitation. Let's face it, EVERYTHING is more expensive in Canada, and I refused to increase my invitation costs by printing all sorts of cards. My 75 invitations, RSVP cards and white envelopes from Zazzle still cost me $300. Plus stamps. Unless you are throwing an ultra-luxurious high society wedding, I really don't think people will mind.
  • I put our website at the very bottom after "reception to follow" with nothing saying please visit our website or anything. It was simple and didn't gunk up the invite as it is a short address.
  • I think it'sfine to do if you don't want to do extra cards. I think like the pp said, add to the bottom under Reception to Follow. Just a little blurb:

    Reception To Follow
