Hi everyone! We are going to Dublin, London, and Paris for our honeymoon. I have only been to Paris before out of all these places, and FI hasnt been to any. We are actually going to be in Dublin for a conference for 3 days, then heading south to a B&B his parents recommended, then to Cork for a night, flying to London and then taking the train to Paris. We will be in London and Paris for 3 nights each. I know it sounds like a whirlwind, but we want to make the most of being in Europe.
If anyone has any recommendations for accommodations in London, Paris, or Cork, please send them my way! Dublin is the only place we have it figured out so far since we booked through the conference.
I am looking on TripAdvisor and have a few places in mind, but personal experiences would be great to hear! Thanks so much in advance!
Re: Honeymoon in Dublin, London, Paris
In London, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Hammersmith and it was a great very affordable. It took about a 15 minute Subway ride to get into the touristy areas of the city. They have a great theatre down the street from it too called the Lyric. One night Russel Brand was there performing.
In Paris we stayed at Cervantes Hotel Paris which was decent. The price was affordable, breakfast was not worth it though if you are used to a standard American breakfast. (Warm Milk, mushy eggs and cheese slices...) The hotel was a little 'cheap' but the location was great and really close to two subway stops and the neighborhood was awesome. We also had a view of the Eiffel Tower from our room.
Just a couple of suggestions.
We had a great time but you will be a bit rushed with only 3 nights in each. Make sure you visit Trip Advisor message boards to see what they recommend and a itinerary. Many places in Europe close around 4-5pm so it is hard to get a lot done in one day.
If you have any questions let me know. :-)

<div>Would you mind sharing your itinerary for London. We will be getting into London 5 pm on a Friday and our flight is Monday morning. So two full days to tour around. Thanks so much :-)</div>

What is your budget for hotels in Paris? Do you know which part of the city you want to stay in? Hotels in Paris can be very expensive (although there seem to be more afforadable options than in London). Hotel Saint Vincent in San Germain des Pres on the left bank is a great little find and not too pricey.
We were there for 5 full days. I would say it depends on your interests. We went to the Tower of London which was great! I would try to fit that into your schedule. Also British Museum is awesome. It has the Rosetta Stone and lots of other cool things. We did a hop on hop off tour for like $40ish and it was a 48 hour ticket. We did The Original Tour. <div>Thanks so much for the info! I am such early planning stages I need to figure out what I really want first :-)</div>
We went to Paris and London in the spring (I have Paris blogged about but not London; working on that now). We're going to Ireland in 3 weeks, so I'll be able to share after that.
here's Paris: http://shineisntalwaysshimmer.blogspot.com/search/label/Paris
We rented our apartment there and I'd highly suggest the apartment rental route. We paid less for hotels that were recc'd to us and were in the perfect location.
Here are some hotels we considered (for our dates they were around 150EU/nit on average):
Day #1: London Eye, Rick Steve's Westminster walking tour, ended in Trafalgar Square, walked through National Gallery (free; used Rick Steve's tour for popular works to see); that night we went to a football/soccer game
Day #2: Tower of London, walked over Tower Bridge and to Borough Market, Brewdog Brewery in Camden Town
Day #3: National History Museum, Harrods, Biritish Museum; then we rode a (city) bus through SOHO, Chinatown and Picadilly Circus to Green Park to see Buckingham Palace. After that we walked through Mayfair area to get dinner.
If you have any questions; feel free to contact me! Sounds like an amazing trip!
I There is a small harbour town called Cobh (sp?). It is a neat small town with a museum. It is the town that was the last port-of-call of Titanic, and where many Irish imigrants left Ireland.
Posted by TaraMc728
We're planning on going here; as well as Kinsale! Both sound awesome

hz80408 - thanks for the recs, especially since the lengths of your stays in each city are similar to what we will so, i will read through everything you posted and im sure it will be helpful!
we havent decided on a final budget but basically we want to try for moderately expensive and not very expensive. i dont want to stay in hostels so i know we will be paying quite a bit. i am thinking we want to keep it under 300/night for each hotel. i also dont know what parts of town we should stay in, but close proximity to transport would be ideal.
thanks again everyone!

For things to do, the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey (pay extra for the guided tour) are a must, IMO.
