RSVP with or without wedding web site

hi ladies... I just had a thought...

I sent out save the dates a few weeks ago that included our wedding site for guest to get information. Over the weekend, I used a vist print groupon that was expiring and i ordered some invitations and Rsvp cards. But now i am thinking that I didn't include that web site on either and I am wondering if i should have? I know that the rsvp should be mailed back to me, but was i supposed to include the web site? If so, how should i go about fixing that now?

    what i mean is,  was i supposed to add the web site so that the guest can rsvp on there if they want since there is a place for there,  some people are very computer savy and would rather do that.

    What I did with mine is added a little business card that I made up myself w/business card paper from Office Max and just put on it "For more details about the wedding, hotels, directions or to RSVP online check out our website at...."   I thought that this was the better way to go because we are inviting several older individuals who aren't so tech savy so they can send in their card. Most people sent in the cards. With today being the due day for RSVP's, I'm getting more online in the past few days from people who forgot. The additional reminder for the website was also a great way for people to see where we are registered at without say "hey we're registered at..." in our invite.

    Since you are (or should be) sending pre-stamped RSVP cards to every guest, why would you even give an online RSVP option?

    I would highly suggest NOT doing online for some and hard copy for others...it could get confusing very quickly. Guests talk.

    Guest A: "So did you send back your RSVP card for Ginagirl9's wedding yet?
    Guest B: "RSVP card? No, I was asked to RSVP online"
    Guest A: "That's strange...I guess they think I'm too old to use the internet!"
    Guest B: "Yeah, I don't have internet access at home, so I almost missed the deadline. I guess Ginagirl assumed I was tech savvy..."

    Online/phone RSVPs are not really the best option, etiquette-wise anyways.

    I would make a separate business card to put in the invitation package, like Erikan suggested. I think that's better than putting it on the RSVP card, since guests will mostly be sending the card back to you--this way they'll have the separate card with your wedding website link. 

    It's fine to offer the option of online RSVPs, although it's not great for a more formal event.

    I think if you give people the option to mail in a RSVP or call or go online than you wouldn't be assuming anything about anyone. My FH as great as he at most things, tends to open invites to weddings and promptly loses the RSVP. He ends up being one of the people the bride/groom has to call and see if he going to the wedding. I like having the option of getting on a website to RSVP or mail in the RSVP or call just because it helps incase FH does open the invite before me or is only addressed to him, and he loses the reply card(he somehow manages to only lose that and nothing else, its a trick of his or something) I can see that they have website so I can RSVP or find what hotel(s) have rooms blocked.

    OP---you've included the website on your STDs which is great for those that did get those(don't know if you might be adding a few guests since) but you could do what a PP said about including a busines like card with the website that says for info on lodging and accomadations and additional info or to RSVP. You have all bases covered(RSVP card in the invite and website so if they want to do it that way, they can) and if some guests talk, one won't have website only or RSVP card only.

    okay, so an additional business card with the info for the web site will be suitable? I think that sounds good, and yes i would be sending one in all of the invites for people to have that additional option.

    I was just worried that i would have to re-do my rsvp cards to include the web site, you ladies are awsome. Thanks for the idea.

    In my personal experience, the value of the online RSVP option was small.  90% of my guests completely ignored the website, which was kind of upsetting to me because of all the time and attention I put into it.  If one more person asks me for the addresses of the venues, I'm going to slip a nut and run naked down the streets screaming.

    I like the idea of just whipping up a business card to insert with the website address on it.  But don't rely on it to distribute information like I did.  People still stick to paper items for some reason.  It was baffling to me.
