Hey no problem!  I'm not a paralegal.  Just a lowly legal secretary.  :)  I thought about paralegal school and it's something I may do at some point.  I work in a mid-size firm in Uptown--most of us came from Bickel & Brewer which you may have heard of--big downtown firm.  I came from there with my boss when he and another guy opened up this firm.  We're up to around 20 attorneys now--up from the 3 we started with in 2001!  We do civil litigation.  Where are you?

Im not a paralegal either, just a legal assistant. I was going to school for a while but once the economy hit I figured I would put it on hold b/c nowadays you can be a "legal assistant" which is basically a "paralegal" you just dont get paid quite as much b/c of the title hahaha

I can never seem to get away from tiny firms :( Of course Im not sure which one is better tiny or big firms :p

I have usually worked with one attorney practices. I did automobile subrogation for a few years. Now Im doing family law and personal injury. Although I much prefer civil vs. family...right now a job is a job I reckon haha

Oh gosh, I know what you mean.  This firm is fun--we can wear anything we want, no time clocks, etc.  I'm currently wearing jeans and my firm T-shirt from 2 years ago!  It's very laid back and the staff is very tight knit which I really like.  I think both large and small have their pros and cons just like anywhere else.

Haha I guess that is a new trend unless you are a very large profile firm...Out of the three firms I have worked at two firms I worked at at both you could wear whatever. I too am wearing jeans, sneakers, and a hoodie (it is cold in the office). I used to work for the law office at UNT...where we had to dress up everyday....BOO. That is always a huge plus though when you can be comfy to work!! I feel like I get more done when Im not spending hours getting ready in the morning.

Also congrats on your new moderator position :D

Awww, thanks!  The former mod recommended me.  I find it very ironic actually!  But I enjoy it--I am all about a bride feeling her most beautiful on her wedding day!

Why is every law firm soooo cold?  I am on a new part of the office now and I have asked for a space heater already!
