It was a long day, but a wonderful day! My mom hosted a beautiful tea party shower for me this afternoon. It was wonderful to see so many women from my life, some of whom I haven't seen since I was a kid. We had dainty little sandwiches and cucumber-mint soup, chocolate cups filled with white chocolate mousse, chocolate-filled strawberries, oh my!
We didn't play any games, thank goodness. I was blushing enough opening gifts... I've never been comfortable opening gifts in front of people. My mom had everyone write either a happy memory of me or advice, and those were lots of fun! And I got way more beautiful gifts than I ever could have wished for.
I think the best part was a poster my mom had made. It was our engagement photo, made to look like a movie poster for some romance movie. I cried, it was so detailed and sweet.
Afterward, my MOH and FSIL went to see Magic Mike, which was pretty good (oh Channing Tatum, you handsome devil!!).
Having never been to either a shower or a bachelorette party, it was odd being the center of attention. But it was a good day. Now I just can't wait for the
WEDDING!!
