So I'm trying to check things off the list. The next project to tackle is the wedding invites. I have seen so many awesome DIY destination wedding invites. I myself just don't have the time and area to do this. My house is pretty much bare and I have a puppy that LOVES shredding paper. So I went to etsy and found a vendor that had awesome destination wedding invites. FI and I wanted something simple and that didn't have multiple inserts and parts to it. So we decided on an invite that looks like a boarding pass where the RSVP card can detach from the main invite and be sent back to us in the pre-printed stamped envelope. How awesome is that?
This is the first draft so there are still something to be worked out. I haven't finalized the menu so the proteins just say beef and fish. It definitely will be beef or fish but not sure how they will be prepared. Should I just leave it as beef and fish or update it with what kind of beef and fish. Such as filet in a demi glaze and Cajun seared ahi tuna. I would have guests go look at the wedding website to checkout the full menu.
Is it readable? Do the colors clash? The wedding colors are turquoise and a deep orange and yellow.

Married!
Still here and still fabulous!
I think it might look cuter with turquoise lettering, or some kind of turquoise accents added as well

Our names are in orange, the rest of the text is a brown. There are yellow flowers in the back ground.
[QUOTE]For our menu options, we put 'Beef brisket' and 'Chicken.' However, if you have something like Cajun seasoning, you might want to add that, as it changes the beef dish considerably. If possible, I'd have the designer make the invitations match your wedding, even if by just adding in some turquoise accents. It's really pretty and I love the idea of tearing off the end and mailing it in!

I do agree a bit more detail about the seasonings on the proteins would be good. I will also try to incorporate an small card that instructs the guests to check the website out for more details on the food. Would that be ok? or tacky?
I will ask the vendor if it is possible to add in some turquoise. As I think it make it more tropical. The picture turned out to be smaller than I wanted. So my apologies. But I am stoked about the tear and mail RSVP.

[QUOTE]That is too cute, Lyn. I love it. It's cute without being "cutesy" and it's perfect for a destination wedding. I kinda hate that you've been one step ahead of me through all your planning, though, and your wedding is after mine. :(

Elle! my dear, you have harder than I with your mom and her drama. So I will say that you have done a great job moving along and over obstacles. Think of me as the mine field checker. I go out do the wedding stuff first and if I don't lose an arm or leg then its safe to move on :)
Thanks, I do think its pretty cool, I've seen some over the top invites for destination weddings that is an invitation suite, but I just can't get myself to go that far. I love this invite but I wonder if its enough. The whole process so far has been low key and mellow. Simple STD magnets, a wedding website and this simple invite...

<div>Most of the time, IMO at least, simple = classy. Don't feel like you need anything else. Those invites are perfect.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, I approve of the bolded part.</div>
Edited because I can't read. I still love it, though. Very clever design.
