Saving on postage through Zazzle

I was really disappointed to know that my invitations were going to cost $0.85 and the only stamps the post office has for this amount are the birds of pray and some mountain view. So, I checked out zazzle and to get the custom postage, it was going to be around $200! I just can't see spending that much on postage, but I also can't see having a big ol' ugly bird on my pretty invitation that I've spent countless hours on.

So, I think I came up with a happy medium. I'm going to order the wedding $0.45 stamps for the RSVP's from the post office and then custom $0.85 stamps from zazzle for the invitations. I found some on zazzle that I think match the ones from the post office pretty good. What do y'all think?

I wish my post office had the 45 cent rose ones that you have. I bought the red ribbon LOVE 45 cent ones for response cards, but they look more like Valentine's day stamps than wedding stamps...oh well, I wasn't going to go crazy tracking the white roses down LOL.

You'd think the post office would have more options to please brides...I feel like we're the ones keeping them in business right now!

I think I am just going to order the $.045 stamps from usps.com. It's under $2 for shipping them to me and I'll spend that much in gas going up to the post office anyway. Saves me the time and the headache.

Now that I think about it...I think the lady at the post office told me that USPS isn't making the white rose 45 cent one anymore...ugh, she was a liar!

Hmmm, I hadn't thought about this yet. Perhaps I need to go buy some of the roses soon. I'm still doing the ugle Aloha shirts for my rsvps though! lol

I used the white ribbon 'love' stamps on my invitations and rsvps and they looked really nice.

I bought the .45 rose ones online from USPS for my RSVPs and then 0.85 cent stamps from zazzle for my invites...mine look like this:

I think that the white ribbon love stamps are super cute and would have bought them had they in any way matched my invites, but they do not. I bought the white roses of usps.com, my local post office didn't carry them. A while ago they had these really pretty green flowery ones that would have looked great with my invites, my mom had bought some and used them all. I was sad they stopped making them.

I also purchased my stamps at usps.com and I also got the rose ones for the reply cards, I also got the wedding cake 65 cents stamps for my invites, they came in the mail within a few days! Good luck!

If you can get a picture from the stamps from USPS you could have them custom to match via zazzle.

I had my stamps match my invites via zazzle. I only needed the 45 cent stamps so it worked out to be the same as if I bought them from USPS. I also had a coupon code to get an additional 20% off and free shipping.

I also need 0.85 cent stamps but I was thinking of using two of the white rose stamps because I think it will still be cheaper than Zazzle overall. Does two stamps look bad?

I think 2 stamps is fine. I'm sure it will take you longer to stamp them, making sure that they're perfectly aligned :)

I'm using the "celebrate" stamp for my invites. I took a sample invite to the post office to get it weighed (so i could buy my stamps online) and that happened to be the one she used. It looks great with my red envelopes!

And ugly aloha stamps looked much better than I thought once actually on the rsvp's. They're cream so they matched the stamp nicely.
