Looking for Photographer-Mooresville Area

Hey guys :)
I am looking for a good photographer in the Mooresville/Lake Norman area. Our wedding is June 18. I have found several but they want a small fortune. Any suggestions?

What's your budget?  Who have you already looked into?

I know that the photographer is one of the areas you want to spend your money in. I am not wanting to pay more than $1200. I know that is not alot but it is what we can do. I have looked into all of the ones listed on here. I have also looked through the yellow pages and gone through the sites they have listed. Unfortunely, for what I am wanting which is about 6-8 hrs of coverage this does not seem possible for my budget.

If you can't find what you're looking for in your price range, then you need to either scale back your coverage, increase your budget or look for a photographer who is either just starting out. Check out CraigsList.  Good luck.

You could also look at the local photography students at the different local colleges. While some may just be starting out, I know that some of them are also really good and unique.

And google, don't forget to google.  People pay to be in the yellow pages and to be listed on the knot, they'll pass those costs on to you.  You may be able to find a family/portrait photographer who is just getting into weddings or something like that who would be less expensive.

Photography is an area where many people do choose to put a lot of their budget, but it doesn't have to be.

ETA: I did a quick google search and came up with: http://www.lakenormanphoto.com/services/weddings/

the website says "Note: all budgets can be accommodated.  Pick up the phone and call"

I found quite a few talented photographers on other sites like Craigslist, wedding wire, etc. I think you have to think about where you're looking for them because if you find them on a site like theknot that is really expensive to list on their prices are probably going to be higher. There are a handful of photographers who are in the first few years of business who arent spending that kind of money on sites like this yet but are still really talented.

http://www.amyhoganphotography.com/ (has some packages under $1200)

http://bridgetmcenaney.com (we contacted her but she was booked for our date - she was priced really well for her background and talent since she's relatively new, worth a shot! i also posted a link somewhere else about her 2012 wedding giveaway but i'm thinking you're getting married this June and not next June?)

RichardWilliamsPhoto.com (quite affordable, travels all over)

r fox photography (saw running lots of photography specials, free engagement shoots, etc)

based out of concord, I am hiring them for my wedding, they are newer and more reasonably priced then others. Plus Brittany provides the print release for a very reasonable price.

I would try Inspired by Jessica in Charlotte. She did some engagment pics recently that were amazing. Dont let anyone talk you into thinking that you have to spend four thousand dollars on a photographer to get something higher quality than a kodak disposable camera! there are plenty of great photographers who are trying to break into the business who would bend over background to photograph your day!
