Ricky Stern Photography and Question About Copyright

Has anyone used Ricky Stern Photography? I was leaning towards using Acromatico, but Ricky's prices are amazing (almost half that of Acromatico). I can't seem to find any reviews on Ricky, though.

Also, he doesn't grant full copyright (just online sharing and printing). Is this a big deal? This means that we'd have to purchase all photos through him, correct? Thanks, ladies! :)

Re: Ricky Stern Photography and Question About Copyright

  • Hi,
I'm using Ricky Stern for my wedding.  You do not have to purchase the pics from him, he will send you a DVD with all of them and you can use them however you want.

  • I'm also a photographer-basically it just means he owns the rights to the photos, as in you basically can't use them for commercial use. Some won't let you print, althought for weddings most do with written permission. It doesn't mean you can't do anything with your photos.
  • Hi there,
I'm using Ricky as well. We love him, his work and his prices are great.
We already had our engagement shoot. It was super fun, he is very creative, and he uploaded our pics to his website like the day after. We also got the CD, so as far as I know, no, you don't have to buy the prints from him if you don't want.

    HTH!
  • Thanks everyone! I feel much better knowing we don't necessarily have to purchase prints from him.
