No theme?

Hey Ladies.  I don't have a theme for my wedding and I'm worried that when it comes to picking out favors, cake topper, decorations in general that everything will be random and mis-matched.  I am most likely going to make my own invitations and design a logo to put on them and was thinking that I could incorporate that and make that my theme but I'm not sure how to go about doing this.  Does anyone have any ideas they can share?  Has anyone had this same issue, if so how has everything come together for you?

    I'm just using blue and yellow as my colors everywhere, a flower scroll, and a monogram for all paper goods. Other than that..my theme is "Wedding Day".
    I think unless you have a really strong theme it it can end up being tacky.
    So I wouldn't force a theme if you don't have one, colors and a monogram can work really well.

    I don't have a theme, per se.  I have just a color scheme i'm going off of.  There are a few invitations ive found that I like the design of them, but I don't plan on carrying it into the rest of the wedding.  I'd say to just stick to what you like and don't worry too much about carrying the theme into all the planning aspects because you may find that you will be compromising on what really make you happy.

    Just don't go crazy and monogram everything. That's a little extreme.

    We just stuck to keeping the colors consistent.

    We don't have a theme, either.  We are just adding touches of our colors throughout our invites, flowers, decor, etc. to pull it all together.  Hope this helps!

    I have a color palette and a mood I'm going for, but no theme. You definitely don't need one. Just come up with consistent colors and a few words that set a tone (like relaxed, fashionable, & fun or elegant, formal, & glitzy). If you ideas fit the color palette and work with your mood, then you'll have a pulled together event.

    The theme of your wedding should be wedding. Pick colors that you like and go from there. You don't need a theme. Too much is tacky.

    Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.  That's exactly what I am doing now, going around my color scheme but I found when looking at ideas for favors that so much of them are geared towards themes.  I will just stick to what I was thinking.  Thanks again!

    totally agree that themes can be "too much" seeing sailboats everywhere, for example, makes people forget they are at a wedding.  pick some fantastic colors and run with those....a slight theme may appear somewhere in the process. i randomly found a cool pattern from my fiance's tux

    for colors, how about your fav. color & his fav. color :) and the bridal wedding cake? a good suprise for the groom would be to let it be the groom's cake & make it a total suprise :) . , you could go Monogram on everything, yet as said by another, that can be over done, yet anything can really. maybe a different font for the diff items that would be in the wedding, ex napkins, cake topper, favor, reception menu, etc... or EVEN better than all this? has he got an idea he would love to share w/yalls loved ones? like a Miami Dolphins Fan? or Fishing? & you could take pics of him from when he was a lil' boy to now involved his fav sport, etc and really have fun decorating the tables & making wedding favor & do those M&M's.com where you can send in a pic & on his fav. color put his pic & on yours, put 'my pic'
