Would Do:
- Destination wedding for sure! It was beautiful and it was great spending a week or so with our guests as opposed to a few hours!
- Do the complimentary wedding package and bring a few items for decor (brought some table runners, napkins and chair sashes in aqua that were placed on the complimentary white linens), bought aqua maracas for place settings that were place cards as well as people shook them to see us kiss, brought stuff for centerpieces but we borrowed vases from the resort
- Get an outside photographer! ours were great to work with and from what we have seen (on the display on their cameras)!
- Splurge on the dress you want!
- Do the TTD, it was fun spending an entire day wearing your wedding clothes with your guy!
- Bring photos for hair and makeup - my wedding hair and makeup were perfect!
- Have a signature drink, ours was a blue mojito (mojito with blue curacao) yummy and it matched our colour
- Do an excursion! A few of us went to Xplor to do zip-lining which was so much fun! while we were doing our TTD people went to tulum, they liked seeing the old ruins but said they were there for 2 mins then went to the gorgeous beach. The day after the wedding a bunch of us went swimming with the dolphins, it was a blast!
Wouldn't Do:
- Travel by ourselves, we arrived before guests and left after guests, I think it would have been more fun if we were with them in the airport.
- Travel without a reservation number no matter what TA's or vacation companies say, I never want anyone to have to go through what we did especially on their wedding trip.
- Set tours up for our guests or their spa appointments, it was my holiday and I spent too much time setting stuff up for other people while we were at the resort.
- I would have changed when our TTD was, our was on a thursday but it was all day and our guests left the following day at noon, so we kinda missed our guests last day. TTD was fun but really hard swimming with a heavy dress, and I am a really good swimmer, but there was one part where i could touch or hold on to anything and the train wrapped around my legs, one photographer and my husband had to pull me to them! lol it was embarrassing!
- Have makeup done without a photo for my TTD! I told him really light and beachy looking and i looked like a transvestite man trying to be a woman. it was terrible, my skin was orange and the eye liner was very thick. I washed my face and did my own!
