  I feel you on the career thing, but for a different reason.  I'm graduating in December (holy wow, that's next month!) and I have a big decision to make about when and where I want to be hired.  I'll be a teacher and my wedding is in September.  See the issue?  If I try to pick something up at the mid-year point, it's still going to be sticky to ask for a honeymoon only a few weeks into next year.  On top of that, I won't have a job all summer, so no money at a crutial time in the planning process.  We just switched our date from May 2013 to September of 12, and the financial/job aspects are the only regrettable detail I can find.  
  *end rant*  
  
  bottom line:  I feel you.

  I think it's slow because the holidays are coming, people are more busy than usual, and the heavy wedding season (spring-fall) is almost over. Based on my 2 years on the Knot, it picks up right after the holidays and there are a lot more posts.

  I would imagine more people will be joining TK after the holidays (getting engaged during Christmas/New Years/etc.) but I could be wrong. I'm on TK often but I think I'll be on EVEN MORE after the holidays because I'll have so much time on my hands, haha

  And good luck with the job search! I'm currently a nanny. I love kids but I am leaving this family after the school year is over... sure that's 6 months away but I'm already starting to look into other options. It makes me feel bad. :-/

  I'm currently on the search for wedding invitations. I spent hours online looking at cardstock, pre-cuts, pockets, etc. i think we're finally close to what I needed to know. (We have a picture of one we like and want to copy- just needed to find the supplies).
  
  We had a LOUSY "cake tasting" this past weekend where they told us we'd be tasting, then told us we had to set up another appointment to do so. The place wasn't very friendly or helpful- but we have another appointment this weekend somewhere else that was wonderful on the phone (Mannino's in Sterling Heights).
  Setting up hotel stuff/transportation for us on the wedding night. Looking at flowers. Waiting for color swatches to arrive.
  
  GOAL: Finalize cake, flowers, linens by the end of November
  
  Next GOAL: Mock invite; definite details on bridesmaid dress (sash color debate); and CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!
