Non-Biblical Readings

My fiance and I grew up going to church but aren't currently all that religious. My uncle is going to marry us.

Are you using any heartfelt readings that aren't biblical or religion related? If not, have you heard any that really touched you?

We used three readings, all non-religous as our entire ceremony was non-religious.

*Union by Rober Fulgham

*An expert from A Gift to the Sea by Ann Morrow Lindberg

*Love Monkey by Edward Monkton

We also considered the Navajo wedding blessing and the Irish wedding blessing.

We used A Lovely Love Story, also my Edward Monkton. My H had zero interest in marriage and lived in his own little world until we met, so it was fitting. We changed a few of the words to make it more personable.

We are using excerpts from The House at Pooh Corner, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and possibly The Little Yellow Leaf. We wanted children's stories rather than biblical readings.
