Need some honeymoon destination ideas...

Hi girls! FI and I  have never been anywhere other than FL and Chicago. We really want to take advantage of this oppty and go somewhere beautiful, warm, preferrably tropical and relaxing. Please send some ideas my way! The more specific the better! Thanks ladiesWink

  • St. Lucia and Hawaii were our top 2 honeymoon destinations, we eventually decided to go to St. Lucia.

  • If you guys don't have passports (and don't want to get them) then The US virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii might be good choices.
  • What is your budget?  We are heading to Bora Bora for our honeymoon, but it's not cheap.  Do you want to do other things than just sitting on the beach?  If so, check out Costa Rica, Bermuda and Belize.  A cruise might be a good option too.
  • I agree-what's your budget? How long do you want to be gone for? What types of activities do you want to do? All of that will help us give you better suggestions.

We did Hawaii--Oahu to be specific--and absolutely loved it. it was the perfect mixture of relaxation and adventure. If you do Hawaii, you could always do two islands as well.

I have also heard great things about the Riviera Maya, St. Lucia and Costa Rica just to name a few places. Somewhere we really want to go someday is French Polynesia. To do that, you'd need to have a larger budget and be willing to be gone for more than just a week because of the long flight times.

  • Budget will play a big part, and as a PP asked about Passports?  There are beautiful islands that you guys can go to that don't require passports.  But if you guys go ahead and get them, the possibilites are endless!  St. Lucia is gorgeous, FI did a "birthday" cruise that left out of San Juan and we went to a different island everyday.  Talk about a week in paradise!

  • I think another big thing is if you are relax and take in the sun type people or very active or want something completely different then a traditional beach type honeymoon. Are you the type that have always dreamed of going backpacking across Europe or a tour of Italy or do you want to swim with the dolphins and maybe go zip lining?

We have not been to that many places either.  I think we are going to go on a cruise.  This way we can experience a couple of  different islands and find out where we like.
