long overdue wedding reviews 10/09/10

I posted my reviews on the wrong board so here it is as it might help any NOLA destination brides:)
I loved my vendors and my wedding. I got so much help from this board, I thought I would submit my vendors in hopes of helping another bride:) I was a destination bride and so I planned most of my wedding online but I did visit about 3 times prior to my wedding.
Venue: I had the ceremony and reception both at the Renaissance Arts Hotel. My wedding was at most 70 people. We had the ceremony in the little arts gallery at the hotel and the reception in the ballroom. The hotel is really beautiful and there were some great photo ops in the hotel and also around the area on Julia Street. The food was wonderful! . I also had the hotel blocks with this hotel. My honeymoon suite was great. My contacts were Rachel who helped me book the wedding then Dannie Wallace helped me plan. They are wonderful and it was a great value!

Officiant: Fig Street Weddings
Dr. Schwehm is punctual, does a great ceremony and is very nice.

Rehearsal Dinner: Pere Antoine- First off, I planned the rehearsal dinner about 3 weeks before the wedding and it turned out great. It was small I would say about 25. They have an open air dining room which I loved, they opened the doors and it was very pretty. The food was good, and my guests were pleased also the staff is great.

Wedding Cake: The Kupcake Factory- Yes I am a cupcake wedding bride:) Actually though we had two top tiers of actual cake and then 75 cupcakes,we chose red velvet, wedding cake, and a peanut butter banana. The guest were happy that they could easily take cupcakes with them. Claudia, the owner is wonderful and the cake was beautiful.

Hair and Makeup: Two Sisters- Gina and Stephanie are great! They are punctual do a wonderful and job and don't charge travel rates! I thought they were really fab. I really enjoyed the way they did my hair and makeup.

Dress: Alfred Angelo Dallas
Bridesmaids: Alfred Angelo, Macy's and Torrid (due to some ordering mishaps) Flowergirl: Davids Bridal
Tuxes: Al's formal Wear

Hairpiece and Cake Topper: Etsy and I also got the grooms gifts there.
Jewlelry: Charming Charlie in Dallas

Flowers: Bouquets (Bridal and Throwaway and grooms) Big Easy Flowers
Worked with us on short notice, the flowers were beautiful!

Photographer: Sabree Hill- She is great, was on time, took beautiful photos, took a lot of photos and her rates are great. She was great to work with and is highly recommended.

Videographer and DJ: Prodigy Media Group: Josh and Clay- These guys do an amazing job! They spent a lot of time with us with the LSI and the wedding. They worked really hard, and we had so much fun. They offer great rates and you get a lot in return. Our video had a pre wedding interview The Love Story Interview, which is sooo cute and The wedding video and a trailer. Also their Dj-ingservices are wonderful. They do offer photography, videography and dj-ing services. They come highly recommended.

I had a lovely wedding and loved all my vendors, if you need any contact info let me know.

    Ah....a Dallas gal, eh?
I'll be out that way by the end of the month (driving out there to start a new job on the 24th)!

Did you go to Stardust to dress-shop?  I am intrigued by them, as they seem to have a wide range of dresses there.  Also, any Dallas wedding shopping advice you have would be GREAT -- okay so I'm pretty much begging, haha.  I need to find dress, jewelry, veil, blusher, tiara, shoes, undergarments, clutch, and ALTERATIONS dear goodness alterations because I'm always so disproportioned (huge hips, tiny boobs).

Anyway, yeah.  This is me groveling for info. haha :)  I can't wait to do my wedding in NOLA in October!!

Lovely Beautiful, congrats on the new job:). I actually did not get to do a lot of dress shopping, I waited until the last minute, hehe. I ended up having to go to an Alfred Angelo. I did go to a wedding show and met some people from this shop in Fort Worth called Bella Bridal and they had some gorgeous dresses. I did alterations in Houston with a family friend, it was her gift to me. I don't have recommendations in the area. Also, for undergarments, I ended io having to get it at Davids Bridal because I waited too long to get it anywhere else. You may want to consider Charming Charlie for the tiara, they have some great accessories, I got my jewelry there. I had a really hard time finding a veil, I had a birdcage veil, I ended up ordering it on easy. I loved my wedding in Nola, we are having an anniversary weekend and inviting our wedding party to join us for a party:) Ladean2 your welcome!:)
