Small budget, even smaller time frame! HELP:)

Hello! I just recently got engaged and due to our crazy schedules, and well, life in general, we have decided to have our wedding this Fall. The kicker is that we both live in Florida and are going to be getting married in Green Bay, WI, which is where I am from and my entire family lives. We have a budget of about $4000.00 and just started the planning phases. Does anyone have any suggestions for budget friendly venues, cake, cheap ideas for center pieces etc?

My sisters both were married at Botanical Gardens, and I don't mind getting married there, but I'm just wondering what my other options are...

Anything will help me greatly! Thanks so much!

I wish I could help but I am more familiar with SE WI.  I feel that I am in a similar situation, just set the date in May for a September wedding.

Definitely look into city parks.  The GBBG is pretty, but it's also pretty expensive!

Yeah that's kind of what I'm running in to...

I guess I'm wondering, what kind of feel are you hoping for with your wedding?  Outside, inside, formal, casual... as for centerpieces and such, are you willing to do some DIY?  (Of course, that might be tougher in this case since you'd have to bring it all with you to GB).

Sorry if I'm being no help :\  Good luck in any case!

I can totally do DIY! I would actually really enjoy that! Outdoor wedding is great, that's kind of what we are aiming for. I have e-mails out to the usuals, Marq, GBBG, Heritage Hill etc. waiting on calls back at this time. Just looking mostly for creative places to get married and have a great reception. It's going to be small so the small budget should be able to far....

Check out Heritage Hill .... my bridal shower was in the lower room of the main building, it's gorgeous and works for the whole indoor / outdoor type of event.

I just stood up for my freinds wedding on Saturday at Green Isle Park.  It was very pretty there and I bet it would be gorgeous in the fall!  It's not very far from Heritage Hill.  She was married in the gazebo at the park.  I can't remember how much she paid, but let me know if you are interested in more details.

I know that her photog (Artistic Visions) was $600 (awesome pics and I think we had her for 3-4 hours)

The food was from Renards and it was delicious! (not sure on the price of that)

The cake was from Bernies ($2.10 per serving) and was the best wedding cake I've ever had.

Flowers were from Copps (yes, REALLY!)- we had to put the bouquets together but they did the bouts and corsages (I think her bouquet plus 4 bridesmaids, a flower girl, 11 bouts and 6 corsages cost around $250)

We did lots and lots of diy and everything turned out beautifully!  Her budget was $5000 and there was a bout 115 people there.
